  1. My predictions/hopes for the Death Star Minifigures: Luke (ANH) Luke (Stormtrooper) Luke (ROTJ) Leia Han Han (Stormtrooper) Chewbacca R2-D2 C-3PO Obi-Wan Kenobi Director Krennic Grand Moff Tarkin Darth Vader Admiral Motti General Tagge General Romodi Colonel Yularen Lieutenant Childsen Lieutenant Endicott Moff Jerjerrod Emperor Palpatine Janus Greejatus Sim Aloo Royal Guard Royal Guard Death Trooper Death Trooper Imperial Gunner Imperial Gunner Death Star Trooper Death Star Trooper Stormtrooper Stormtrooper Stormtrooper Stormtrooper Stormtrooper R3-T6 R2-Q5 RA-7 Protocol Droid Galen Erso (I realize he was never on the Death Star, but this does feel like a perfect set to include him in) Bonus non-minifigure characters: Omi the Dianoga MSE-6 IT-O Interrogation Droid At a set this size with this many minifigures I’m sure there’ll be a joke figure or two instead of some of these, which I am looking forward to potentially seeing.
  2. Are you sure about the extremely popular part? Because while Andor was/is an incredibly popular show, I can’t imagine that a much less memorable than the OT version that hasn’t been made imperial meeting room is a thing that tonnes of people are clamouring for. But I don’t think Lego has to worry about popularity of the May 4th GWP, since people will buy a bunch of Lego Star Wars on May the 4th anyways.
  3. I don’t know about happy, but Season 2 will presumably have a bit more of the triumphant vengeful antifascist energy the finale of season 1 had, which the trailer song fits in with. (Obviously alongside a decent chunk of showing the brutality of violence, of course.)
  4. I’d guess we’ll probably get a droid head. (Least of which because R4-F5 is only a head attached to the starfighter.) In terms of microfighters where there are droids in the starfighters, 2 have included the droid (Theron Nett’s X-Wing, Anakin’s N1) and 4 have not included it (Temmin’s X-Wing, Zorii’s Y-Wing, Blue Squadron Y-Wing, and Rex’s Y-Wing). The Y-Wings make sense not to include an astromech because it’s hard to do that and keep the general shape of the ship at that scale. Temmin’s X-Wing doesn’t really make sense and is a bit of an outlier. Maybe it’s because they didn’t have a name for him yet and potentially not good photography available for R6-D8 so he didn’t get included. But given we’ve got an astromech with the other X-Wing and N1, I can imagine we’d get one with Plo Koon’s starfighter considering it’s not intrusive to the rest of the ship and is an important part to the layout of the ship.
  5. What else could be something that would make sense to be kept secret? Andor S2 is the only thing coming out this year, unless it’s based on another season of the “Tales of the ____” series, since those have had a relatively short time between announcement and airing in the past. Unless there’s another animated series they’ve kept under wraps and are set to announce soon. Or it’s based on a video game or something.
  6. Tbf, I was never a big fan of the military parts of Star Wars to begin with, but it is definitely a bit frustrating seeing so many clone sets and almost nothing from any other parts of the prequels. I want a Shmi, AOTC C-3PO, Dexter Jettster, and Boss Nass so bad. Although I’m not complaining too much, because the less money I spend on Lego right now, the better. Part of it might also be that I am not a fan of the current art style for Lego clones, so it’s not exciting for me as it could be.
  7. That would be exciting, but I’m not expecting that. I’m boringly guessing it might have Plo Koon in it, considering the unusual original mould in a microfighter. (Also as we saw with the AAT in 2020, the pairings or Jedi/Clones to opposing vehicles isn’t always accurate to anything shown onscreen.)
  8. I see what you’re saying, and that might be relevant for other characters. Canon book Thrawn and Filoni’s Thrawn are completely different characters. Filoni’s Thrawn is mentioned as doing a genocide in Rebels, in the books it turns out that was Arihnda Pryce framing Thrawn for what she did. In the shows Thrawn is loyal to the Empire long after it falls, in the books Thrawn has little loyalty to the Empire, and is only an imperial officer because he thinks a partnership with the Empire is necessary to defend the Chiss Ascendancy. In the books, if Thrawn hadn’t been taken off the board by the Purrgil, there’s a good chance Palpatine would’ve had him executed for treason. So yeah, TV characters are going to be more flat, but it’s obvious Dave Filoni and Timothy Zahn have fundamentally different views of who the character is.
  9. So I never gave any credence to the idea that Lego was purposely avoiding Jabba’s Palace because of the “controversy” (if it can even be called that) that it looked vaguely similar to a mosque. Although between the bad build of Boba Fett’s Throne Room, and this video that Star Wars Kids released that seems to go out of its way to not depict the iconic main structure of Jabba’s Palace, it seems like there might be something behind the idea that Lego is somehow still worried about it even now. Which is just extremely disappointing. Both because I desperately want Jabba’s Palace sets, and also because even I, who is about as far left as they come, think that whole thing is ridiculously stupid. There’s so many ways that Star Wars is unintentionally racist and discriminatory, but this is not at all one of them. Canon. Honestly I’m not crazy tied to him being a Chiss nationalist, but I really enjoyed him being in the Empire for his own goals. Seeing a morally complicated (and very autistic, which is fun) character who actually cares about people and has complex motivations is fun. Book Thrawn would never have the complete disregard for human life that TV show Thrawn does, and also book Thrawn would never have loyalty to the Empire once it was no longer useful to him, which the fractured Empire is definitely not even remotely as powerful by the time of Ahsoka. Is book Thrawn a fascist? Maybe. But he definitely isn’t a fascist just for the sake of being evil and accruing power like he is in Ahsoka, and in the books actually thinks that he’s helping people. Granted I realize different people want different things out of Thrawn, it’s just canon book Thrawn is one of my favourite characters in Star Wars, whereas TV show Thrawn is a fine and maybe even above average villain. So the canon books made TV show Thrawn extremely disappointing and fall flat as opposed to if he had just come in as a villain without any expectations and been fine enough in the role.
  10. For real. They massacred my boy, and turned him into a one-dimensional cartoon supervillain rather than an actual complex character that grapples with morals.
  11. At the prices Lego is selling their sets at, luxuries should be the norm/expected. No one said it was a requirement, (hence why Lego thought it was fine not to include it) but it is Lego being cheap, just like the lack of astromech back printing.
  12. Was mostly talking about Jesse, Keeli, and Aphra. Also to be clear it was a joke. Tried to use the tongue out emoji, but for whatever reason I can’t get the eurobrick emojis to work in my replies.
  13. Coming out here with the bold stance that not only are the comics not canon, but neither is the Clone Wars tv show.
  14. Because he and his pirate crew are very cool. (I am not at all biased with my Quiggold based profile photo and username. :P)
  15. Tbf, the set was based off the ride at Disney, Rise of the Resistance, not the novel, but yeah, it’s so weird they won’t do a single Fallen Order/Survivor set.
  16. I’d be way less disappointed if the books themselves were half decent, and weren’t riddled with countless mistakes that most Lego Star Wars fans could spot extremely easily.
  17. Well that sucks. Give us an actual set, not have us pay like $40 for a book for one figure.
  18. I feel like everyone’s getting a little off topic here…
  19. I feel like if you want Cloud City to interact with minifigures in any way, it’s not going to be a display piece on the outside. Mainly because it is impossible for it to be structurally sound with the spike at the bottom at anything but very small scale. A flat disk without the spike at the bottom would look nothing like cloud city’s exterior, and also be a huge waste of pieces for a play set.
  20. I mean I am pretty disappointed with the set, but also a minifig scale Khetanna is the set I’ve been dreaming of ever since I got into Lego Star Wars. While some minifigs are disappointing and it’s definitely overpriced, it’s still a better/larger build than I’d be able to part out on bricklink for the same price. Absolutely understand why the issues would be a dealbreaker for people who aren’t as rabid for Jabba’s Palace related stuff as I am. Although it seems like there’s a decent chunk of rich Lego Star Wars fans who will buy all of the big UCS sets regardless of quality or price.
  21. He’s 10 years old. So presumably he will still get the short legs.
  22. Yeah, I definitely agree with you. It’s a weird choice. Although I am very glad that Lego is at the very least acknowledging that the sequels exist. By the time this releases it will have been 5 years since the last sequels set released, and this at least gives me hope to see some playsets at some point down the line.
  23. They better make a new mould, the old one’s printing rubbed off so easily, plus it’s a bit cartoony. At the very least I’d hope they’d make it out of the harder rubber that they’ve used for Yoda and most rubber-headed characters since ~2013, rather than the soft rubber they used for the original Plo, Clone Wars Yoda, and Kit Fisto.
