PotC most likely.
-
Super Heroes has both minifigs and action figs too.
-
The presentation was supposedly only for 1st half year and there's a action theme slot in 2nd half year too. So the Polar theme could still be in there. It's not from the actual article but in the comments to this article. It's almost at the bottom of the coments

Lets look back to Atlantis. It was the predecessor of NinjaGo and in january 2011 it did get a small, final, wave of five sets. In the same release Ninjago stormed into the lego universe. I don't remember with how many sets but it was well more than the five Atlantis got. And before Atlantis there were Power Miners and it too ended with a small wave simultanious with the big release of Atlantis. So the course of action has been for a while that the big action theme from the previous year is let go with a small release at the same time as the new one gets a big launch with tons of advertisments. Looking at that the rumors do make perfect sense. Legends of Chima (hereafter: LoC) is most likely the theme replacing NinjaGo. Rumors say that NinjaGo will get around 6 sets and no spinners. This fits with the previous theme getting a small release. The no spinners rumor fits with the rumor of there being a game part (Speedorz according to some claim) to LoC just like NinjaGo had Spinjitzu. Lego want to shift the kids attention from NinjaGo and Spinjitzu to LoC and Speedorz and new spinners would delay that shift. I have a hard time seeing TMNT as the replacement for NinjaGo. It's a License theme and even though it has similar foundations in the story (NinjaGo might actually have been inspired by TMNT) I still think the storielines and characters are different enough to not cause any confusion. Even though they're ninjas the heroes are turtles and the ninjas are actually found amongst the bad guys. Hadn't there been non-human characters on the bad guy side too it would almost be NinjaGo in reverse... So no TMNT is not the NinjaGo replacement. There's also the new "Galaxy Quest" rumor and it sure fits in there presuming that Speedorz is the Spinjitzu equivalent for LoC. Finally on the rumor list there's Polar Xxpress. In the Brickset posting there were said to be no polar theme. But the Lego Rep presentation that is done now is only for first half year (january - may) and there's an Action theme slot in summer/fall (depending on country) whitch might be this polar theme. So here's my prediction on how the release schedule for the rumored sets will look like this: January: NinjaGo LoC TMNT "Space Quest" 2HY (june-august): LoC Polar Xxpress

Well looking back at the last few years the big action of the previous year has ended with a january release simultanius with the first wave of the replacement theme. However Ninjago is not replaced by a TMNT theme.
-
AFAIK it takes around two years to develop a set so they would have needed to cancel the cancellation at about the same time as the theme was launched...
-
I agree. Ninjago being replaced by a TMNT theme just doesn't make any sense at all. NinjaGo is ending because it was the plan from the start. And I think it's a good thing they're sticking with that plan because doing an unplanned continuation based only on sales/viewers/whatever always turn out badly,

There's a new series on Nickelodeon starting september 29 (I think). That would be a why.
-
Would be nice but I havent seen them do much research in Ice Road Truckers though... BTW "legomilk" are you sure that the name isn't "Polar X-pedition" like that new ride at Legoland Billund?
-
I think it's safe to asume that is not a typo. If it is, someone has messed up big time. After all it's a trademark registration and you don't mess such a thing up. You just don't.

The games "theme" isn't canceled. It's being streamlined containing fewer and, hopefully, better games. And I think Maya Mystica weren't canceled it was redesigned into that the Hobbit game.

I would take anything that is said by Lego's customer service with a whole truck of salt. I believe that we've seen that information from that customer service to be unreliable before. Also I work at a store selling lego and 100% of the current Lego Kingdoms theme (yes, even the last wave with Mill Village Raid!!) has been put up on the "exit-list". and thats why the sets are marked sold out. Because they are and they won't return into stock.
-
What they said was that Lego Castle would continue. But whatever was meant by that is debateable. It doesn't say that we'll be getting any new sets besides Kingdoms Joust and I believe that what they meant was that it would continue via the Kingdoms joust set. Yes. I think that Castle/kingdoms will take a hiatus while LotR is running and I have a hard time seeing that LotR would continue far beyond 2013. I believe we'll see the final wave of LotR/the hobbit sets in december of 2013 and canceled in 2014 and then Castle/Kingdoms will probably do a comeback in summer or fall 2015.
-
I expect Kingdoms to go on clearance any day now. We got the exit-list at work earlier this week and all the Kingdoms sets were on it...

Like some others I just can't create a profile. Am I required to enter some secret password into the "About me" text box or what? When I click the "Create profile" button it just highlights the "about me" box. And it doesn't matter what I type into that @%¤#"£$ text box...!

There were no evidence of LEGO currently (or even rumours to that affect) trying to obtain licenses to make sets based on DC Comics' and Marvel's super heroes until late july. And yet here we are less than six months later with sets starting to pop up in stores... And besides the rumors are based on more than just a guy from TT Games saying that "a Lego LotR game would work". I believe we have had at least two unrelated posters claiming to know that it's real and another who reports getting funny reactions from shop employees when bringing up the subject... And besides, threads with false rumors rarely, if ever, reach 36 pages...
-
Yes they will have a line of mini figures but is that minifigures as in lego figures or minifigures as in miniature figures. I'd say it's the latter rather than the former cause if they'd obtained a cunstructable toy license why settle with just the minifigs?
-
I would say that an announcement would be made during the big toy fairs in february.
-
As just about anyone can add episodes on IMDB I'd take that list with a big grain of salt...
-
Hmm 4205 doesn't belong in the fire subtheme it's a forrest police set: And no there hasn't leaked any pictures of it AFAIK...
-
Yeah I've got a feeling that Kingdoms will be off the shelves sometime soon...
-
Who's said that the spinners sold poorly? The Spinjitzu starter set was the third best selling set in Sweden in 1st half of 2011. Only beaten by the Ice dragon and Skull motorbike. Best Star Wars set came on fourth place...
-
Yeah, Quinjet is this plane(No it's not a picture of the set!) used by the Avengers.
-
Don't really know much about this theme beside it's name and that it's a small release. Kind of like Pharaos Quest and Alien Conquest from this year. I don't think that it's a continuation of a theme from this year and it's not a revisit of an old theme. It's not a license theme either as it's nothing I've ever heard of and google doesn't bring up anything that lego would even consider taking in as a license so it must be an action theme. And I'm not going to say anything more than that (But I've probably said to much already) since Lego realy hated me the last time...
-
You're forgetting Friends and NinjaGo both of which will get big releases (more than 20 sets each!) next year. There's also another action theme in summer/fall. So even if there isn't that many non-licensed themes we'll get a substantial amount of non-licensed sets
