- Are you a member of a LUG?
- Are you actively participating in your LUG?
- If yes, what do you do (e.g. helping out during events, making displays, etc.)?
- If no, what's holding you back?

- Would you consider supporting more actively the online AFOL community (e.g. Eurobricks) as moderator, regulator (indexing, ...), making set reviews, etc.?
- If the answer is yes, where do you possibly see yourself contributing?
- If the answer is no, what's the reason (e.g. lack of time, ...)?

GauLUG, first LUG on the African continent

In the 'what kind of AFOL are you' discussion several mentioned they are not part of a LUG as none are in their neighborhood.
Well, it seems AFOLs living in Africa didn't have any LUG on their own continent till recently the first African LUG was founded.
Find out more about GauLUG, the first African LUG (based in South Africa), in this topic in our forums.
If anyone wants info, or knows someone who'd been looking to join a LUG in Africa, let us know.

What kind of AFOL are you?

Recently Hispabrick Magazine interviewed Jan Beyer, LEGO Community, Engagement and Events Team, in which Jan stated following:
I see an increase in the number of LUGs (especially in Eastern Europe, Asia and North America) but also the member count of most LUGs is growing.Unfortunately the number of active AFOLs seems not to have the same growth rate – mostly the same AFOLs have been active over the past years and the number of new very active people is not very high so we all together need to find ways to increase the number of actively participating AFOLs.
What kind of AFOL are you?
Looking forward to read your feedback.

Heroica RPG 2nd Anniversary and Building Contest

Eurobricks' very own roleplaying experience celebrates its second anniversary this month. The Heroica RPG Games subforum will host several events during August to commemorate this milestone. The traditional Lottery is already under way, where players can sign up to receive free in-game items - if they are lucky!
A little later, there will be a "massacre"-style game called the Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Downfall of Heroes that is open to all members of Eurobricks. It will depict the events that took place just before the start of the game, when Heroica met an unprecedented threat that almost wiped them out for good. How did it all boil down? Sign up later this month to be a part of uncovering the truth! No gaming experience is required.
Last but not least, the Heroica RPG Building Contest is just beginning. Build a creation that would fit into the fantasy setting of Heroica and be in to win fantastic LEGO prizes; either 70404 King's Castle or 79008 Pirate Ship Ambush, both kindly donated by The Lego Group.
The game itself will continue to go on to its third year, with over 100 players and 80 quests completed to date. New players are free to join at any time, so head over to the Heroica RPG subforum and join the celebration!
Announcing Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka: Episode I

What is this about?
It's the latest community build and contest project for the Star Wars forum! Thanks to your suggestions, we've developed Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, a building RPG set during the Shadows of the Empire time period, between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. You can join one of two factions, the Empire or the Rebellion, and participate in 'episodes' (challenges) by building to earn in-game XP, tags, and other rewards, both digital and physical. You'll also have a character in-game, and through your building, you can advance your character, unlocking new abilities determining what and how you can build, in order to help your faction win and rake in the prizes.

Replica of the SL Gabon

Eurobricks member VFracingteam has spent the last 2 months working on this replica of the SL Gabon which plies the waters of Gabon, Africa. The statistics speak for themselves:
The hull structure is made entirely from Technic beams and pins, while the superstructure is mostly System. He invented this building style for ships and seems to be the only one using it, though probably not for long!
Wander over to the Technic, Mindstorms, & Model Team forum and see if you can tell the difference between the model and the real thing.
