Part name: Minifig Accessory Classic Space Visor

Part description: Something like old castle visor http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/x105 without hole and wing, just visor for old type of helmets, in Space style colors (tr. dark blue, rt. dark green, tr. yellow, tr. red, tr. black and non transparent black like M tron I)

Part usage: service pack for old space sets or classic space collectors

Why did the original helmets have those dimples if there were never any visors? Or were there some visors that I'm just not aware of?

Edit: Silly me, I just realized the answer is in the post I quoted. Apparently, there were some castle visors. In the original thread, only the image was showing, so I thought it was something that had never been produced. I don't know if I can delete my thread.

Glad you found the answer to the question on your own, but for the record some of the oldest classic space helmets did not have dimples. Bricklink lists these two variants, which came in various colors. The Bricklink inventories for many sets from this era they use these two item numbers, since there were versions of those sets that included dimples on the helmets and versions of those sets that did not.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen one of those before. Were there other visors besides the castle ones?

Nope. When it was used in Town, like as a motorcycle helmet, the visor was "imaginary" just like in Space.
