absolutelylez Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Hi guys, I am totally in love with the new Ewok Village set coming out this September: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=10236-1 However, I am more of a pirate guy -indeed, I would want to buy this to convert it into a new Indigo tribe hangout. So, I would be selling the figures, they're cute and cuddly, but I prefer little islanders on my trees ! So my question to you - Star Wars experts - how much do you think all the figures would fetch on eBay, if I sold them as 1 lot? (though I might keep C3PO ...) Thanks !! Edited July 3, 2013 by Brickdoctor Clarified title. Quote
Darth Dino Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Hi maybe this gives you an idea: The 10188 Death Star figs (24) are worth about 80€ on ebay germany. The MRSP of the DS is 419€. Dino Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I've slightly changed the title, from "Selling..." to "Pricing...", as I didn't want it to sound like you were selling something on EB outside of the BSTF forum. (and from an unreleased set, too) Quote
absolutelylez Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 @Darthdino, thanks, so I'd be guessing 30 euros or so. @Brickdoctor, quite right, thanks ! Quote
Darth Dino Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Hi you have to find out how many of those figures are exclusive/rare and/or iconic/with high demand. Those figures alone can be 30€ worth. New/rare exclusive are for example the Ewoks and Leia. Luke has a new torso too. Those have higher value than others. The "generic" troopers or rebels, i would say 3-5€ each. Dino Quote
Fives Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I know I'd be willing to pay $10-$20 CAD each for Luke and Leia Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Okay, time for some research! (Prices in USD as shown by BL.) The Wicket from 8038 goes for about $7 on BL. This is a newer version of him, and the old one is unique to its set also. 8038's Paploo appears to be the most generic-looking of the more recent Ewoks (assuming the Ewok warrior is not as in-demand as he is), he goes for about $4. Chirpa and Logray are about $5 each on BL, so I assume Teebo will be similar. This version of the Scout Trooper is $2 each on BL. This version of the Stormie is $5 each on BL. The Endor Leia from 8038 is only worth $5, but the more recent and similarly exclusive Celebration Leia is $10. I assume Luke will go for a similar price as Leia. This version of Han is $5. The vest commando is $2. The other commando is $3. R2 is $3. Reddish brown Chewie is $2. And this version of Threepio is $4. That adds up to $79. I didn't adjust the prices for the fact that many of these will be new and exclusive minifigs from a big D2C set, so that might increase the prices. At the same time, I also didn't adjust for the fact that you'll be selling all of these in one batch, so you might charge a bit less for that. (and/or any buyers might expect to pay less when buying them all at the same time) So perhaps $70-$80, for a general guideline? Quote
absolutelylez Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 Wow ! Thanks a lot for this info. I never thought it could reach so much, but that is definitely good news :) :) :) :) Quote
HJR-Holland Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) Funny to see you want to transfer the Ewok village into something for a different toy lineup, as this is exactly what KENNER did in the 80's / 90's with their Ewok village, which they adapted for the Robin Hood merchandise. Observe: Left = Endor village (1983), right is Sherwood Forest (1992) Funny fact: they even recycled the figs in the set: Edited July 4, 2013 by HJR Quote

I remember I wanted that Ewok set bad when I was growing up, along with the MF. I had a very strict upbringing, and was not allowed to have such toys. Thanks for sharing the comparison, I found it very interesting! Edited July 4, 2013 by Brickdoctor Please don't quote images from recent posts. Quote

From what i know the Troopers for example are new versions and this will be the only set to get them! Also you gotta keep in mind when selling the figures ASAP after their release they will fetch higher prices than let´s say after 3 month of release! The Leia Minifigure alone will def. not selling below $12-15 since she ´s all exclusive in this (expensive)set! You can´t compare the #8038 prices to a D2C-set like the Ewok-Village! If i would sell the lot of Figures i would def. ask for $100 at least! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 That's true. I would expect slightly higher prices on some of those figures due to the time of release. I would expect Leia to go higher than $12, but then again I thought more people would be clamoring for her slave variation in the new Jabba set, but she hasn't even been hitting $10 on ebay. Max Rebo has been going really cheaply too, so I don't know. I doubt the scout troopers will fetch too high of a price, but since it is a new coloring and more accurate from my understanding, they might hit a few dollars more. As great as the figure line-up is in that set, I'm disappointed there aren't more exclusives to it at that price. Granted the Haunted House set had 2 exclusives and it was cheaper, so I guess ~5 is good. Quote
Bobskink Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Put it on eBay and you will get a good price for them for sure. Quote
TWP Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 It also depends in which country/state you are selling the minifigs. Sometimes it makes a difference of 10$ for the bunch. Also, in european countries they can go for more then in the states. Quote

Yes, I know, I discussed that in the last paragraph of my post: I didn't adjust for the higher prices because it's a new exclusive, but I also didn't adjust for the fact that a buyer might expect to pay less when buying them all at the same time. Whether they cancel each other out, I have no idea, but like I said, general guideline. Quote
