A few weeks ago I got 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City and apparently the cowl for Batman is the one from the jetski :sceptic: . I also heard that this happens with Two Face Chase, and I'm planning to get that soon, but I don't want another jetski cowl. Is there a reason why TLG changed the cowl? I wouldn't prefer having three of the same cowls, I'd like one of the old black ones. Anyone know how to get an old one? :hmpf:

I think the new cowl is like TDKR Batman cowl, and I also got a blue one with my Batcave. If you got the new one with Batwing the chances are you should get the old one with Two Face (I did.) Welcome to Eurobricks. :classic:

Same here, when I went to Dallas this summer I got the Batwing Battle Over Gotham City set(which I dismantled, not Joker's helicopter to make a tumbler),but my Batman also seemed to have the TDK or TDKR cowl.I guess it must be when the Batski polybag came out the next shipment of DC sets to retails had that cowl to make it seem as if the cowl wasn't that rare, knowing we would go crazy for the cowl(I sure wasn't crazy for it)nice move lego :sceptic: ,I really wnated the old cowl.

EDIT:Greetings Bobstapwns to Eurobricks :classic:

Welcome Bobstapwns.

Yeah, I think the general consensus is that they changed it to reflect the look of Batman's cowl from the Nolan trilogy more, and there is no way of telling when you will get the old or the new cowl afaik. I think your best bet is to buy the set from a toy store that doesn't restock their Lego sets too often. Chances are that they might still have some sets from the first production runs when the sets still came with the old cowl. But it's pretty late, so no guarantees. :sceptic:

Well, yes, if you don't mind spending around $5 for a cowl, that's one way to get it. Bricklink is also one of the places that might still have the versions of the sets with the old cowl in them, but it's still a gamble.

Did you get a blue version of the 'new cowl' with your Batcave or the normal version? :P Hopefully when I buy Two Face Chase, it's the normal one (I really need the normal one). Thanks for the help!

I'm surely not crazy for it either, (mainly because it doesn't fit which we all know) and it's sort of dumb that they *if they did* did that. Can't they just put the new one in Two Face and the old one in Batwing instead of changing them all?

Welcome Bobstapwns.

I could very well try Wal-Mart or some other stores around me like Meijer or Kroger, they've had them on the shelves since June. Target maybe as well.

There's always bricklink.com

Good idea. I'll probably end up getting one from there.

I'll probably end up getting it from Bricklink if the Two-Face Chase one doesn't come with it.

I like the new cowl, Lego most likely changed it to create a different look for Bats. I don't like the error on the new cowl that causes it to go lower than it should, like the problem with the Even Piell figure.

It seems like LEGO wants to make the old one the new rare one. :/

I like it too. I just want the other one as well.

I bought the Batwing set some time ago, so it included the old cowl, but when I used The Sun's LEGO promotion to get the new cowl, I was expecting to find a blue TDKR version when I purchased the Catwoman set about a month later. Since I bought the set in a shop, it was pretty much luck which one I got, but I'm happy anyway, the blue cowl looks much better in the old mould.

If you really want one of the old ones, you're probably best off buying the thing individually online. The chances of finding a set from the first production wave are very slim indeed, unfortunately. :sadnew:
