How create ground, rivers, cliffs and waterfalls

Hi to everyone, warning in Eurobricks I saw a lot of great MOC full of details and I start thinking how can I create a MOC like these. One of the things that impressed me is the groud; I saw a lot of ground with LEGO brick very well-detailed and I like it a lot.

Therefore I would know how you make this ground, the rivers, the cliffs and the waterfall with the bricks.
