That's my "Technic Hand". You can use it to push and pull axles, connectors, etc without using your teeth or hurt your fingers :wink:

The same happened to me when I picked apart my tow truck. I just had to stay of technics for some days and it got better...

But seriously, I find taking models apart to be a real problem, so I do not do too often. Maybe technic just does not fit The Lego company's general policy, that every thing should easily be taken apart.

Hey there!

I know what you mean, my hands usually get sore after disassembling a lot of technic pins or cross axles.

The best solution i have found so far is very simple really: Use a rubber-coated textile glove. You do not need to put it on, just use it to grab the parts you need to pull off.

Using a rubberized glove, you get better grip on the parts and do not need to squeeze them as hard. This results in straining your hands far less.

Try it out yourself, hope my advice helped :)

Best regards,

I used to get this, especially when dismantling bigger sets, but when you do it a lot you'll build up a bit of resistance to it. Having said that, I play guitar so my fingers are naturally calloused anyway :tongue:

Just keep practicing until you develop impenetrable callouses. This happened to me last time I disassembled my collection. I think I took apart nearly 1 million parts over the course of about 6 weeks. My fingers were hamburger. Now I can feel no pain because my fingers are like stone.

Wow that is so simple yet very sensible, gotta build myself one of those, and thanks every one for all the suggestions, I will try them out.

I use a small pair of needle nose pliers with spring apart jaws to pull connector pins out, works very well and can also be used to pull axles out when they get stuck.

The condition is called tendonitus caused by repetetive strain !!!!

When cleaning out my room i had to take some lego sets apart, and my hands were sore and dry at the end!

@laix

I like your design, i might have to build one myself.

the new brick seperator has an axle remover built into it. i haven't used it myself; doesn't look particularly ergo, but it's there.

This thing is great!!! I just had to make an order at bricklink in order to rebuild your "Technic hand" if you don´t mind! Thanks for sharing!
