No wonder they didn't release minifigure sets. Why didn't they do so? If the LEGO Group made minifigure sets, then the theme would've been better! Not to mention MEGA Bloks got the licensing to Generator Rex, another Cartoon Network series from the creators of Ben 10. That makes me ANGRY AND JEALOUS!!!!!!!

Hopefully, however, if the MEGA Bloks Generator Rex toys don't sell good enough, then they oughta sell the licensing to LEGO with new "maxi-minifigures" to make Rex Salazar customizable with his weapons. And they could re-introduce Ben 10 with new subthemes, such as Classic Ben 10 and Ultimate Alien. Oh, and by the way, since both Ben Tennyson and Rex Salazar are both superheroes, would they fit in the LEGO Super Heroes theme?

No, as the SuperHero theme is DC and Marvel, not the term Superhero.

Okay, that was a dumb question I asked. I really wished LEGO got Generator Rex instead.

It's no real secret here Ben 10 pretty much bombed. I don't see much of a reason TLG would be interested in this theme. Especially now that they're licensed to release the original superheroes from back when - superheroes that pretty much anyone can recognize. I've never even heard of this, but assuming it's in the same style as with the same writers as Ben 10, not to mention that MegaBloks had interest in licensing them, it's doing well. Still, Marvel and DC are pretty much the leaders of superheroes. I doubt that'll change anytime soon.

Ben 10 is best discussed in the Action Figures forum. Mega Bloks is best discussed in Community. Neither Ben 10 or Generator Rex fall under the Super Hero theme.

I'm going to move this to community since it isn't really about Ben 10. Watch your gratuitous use of exclamation points or the grammar police may just kick down your door someday. :classic:

I really don't think the market is there for LEGO Generator Rex. It's just like Ben 10, which bombed, because it was terrible.

FWIW Character Building (who do the Dr. Who and a few other licenses Lego knock-offs) have the Ben 10 License now and will be bringing stuff out this year. I'm going to have to try and hide it from my kid because he'll want it and I don't want that stuff getting mixed up with our precious real Lego.

The Lego Ben 10 stuff was terrible. A proper minifigure scale line might have worked though. The show is incredibly popular with a core Lego demographic. I think they just dropped the ball on it.

What the heck are you talking about? I looked up "FWIW Character Building" on Google, and couldn't find it. And yes, you were right. The LEGO Ben 10 action figures were horrible. I really wish they had released a proper minifigure scale line instead.

Character Building is a toy brand. I'm not completely sure (I personally really just wish people would spell out phrases), but I believe 'FWIW' is an acronym for 'for what it's worth'.

Sorry yeah... FWIW = For What it's Worth

Character Building is the brand name under which the Character toy company releases their (fairly succesful) Legoish building stuff.

I just clicked on the Character Building link, and no sign of Ben 10. Now what?

Yes, and words are 'subject to approval'.....I can't see how Ben10 or suggesting Generator Rex would go to another toy company other than Lego.....TimeWarner deal remember and CN is TimeWarner.

The subject to approval thing is just because they're prototypes and not finalised yet. The license is a done deal and they'll be coming out later this year. It was announced at the London Toy Fair. There's more about a minute in on this video:

I have no idea if Character Building distribute stuff outside the UK though. I know their Dr Who range has a bit of a following, but am not sure if people outside the UK need to import it or if they can just buy it there.

And... a bit off topic... but holy crap the animation style on the new Ben 10 series looks absolutely awful.
