MAWEK LEGO Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I love the red 7938 train so much I had to try to create a white one. It's almost finished, just need to order a few little pieces.. Quote
McBuddha Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I like it a lot better that the original red one. Nice one! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Yes, the white looks much better.....good work 'MAWEK LEGO' and Brick On ! Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I have to agree, white looks good. Any side shots so we can see more detail? Quote
lostdriveway Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 yes please more pictures!!! Love the look of the white version and can't believe I hadn't thought of doing that myself!! Great Job!! Quote
LegoSjaak Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I really like it. Sometimes a set totally changes when the color is different. I changed the yellow 7939 in red and you made a wonderful choice to make a white 7938! Super! Greetz, LegoSjaak Quote
Sokratesz Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) If you gave a single coloured line (blue?) running front to back it would be finished Edited September 18, 2011 by Sokratesz Quote
kyphur Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 The white looks great. The only improvement I can think of would be to recolor the undercarriage. In the original it was white, while the rest of the train is white the original white should be gray IMHO. Quote
harnbak Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Good work! Is it possible to see more pictures? Quote
MAWEK LEGO Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the replies Some more (bigger) picures beneath.. The train is for 98% finished, need to add some gray 'roof tiles with lattice' on the roof and a few 1x4 black arch bricks. Hope they become available at LEGO PAB soon.. Regards, Marco. Jay Sathe Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I really like this model of yours, MAWEK. You have done a great job recoloring the 7938, and I wish LEGO would release something like this. I do think a colored stripe down the side would look nice, though. Quote
Snapshot Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) I love the red 7938 train so much I had to try to create a white one. It's almost finished, just need to order a few little pieces.. That does work well. I'd been thinking about it but now you've shown it's worth doing...... You mentioned using PAB for your parts. Do you know about Bricklink? Edited September 18, 2011 by Snapshot Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Your images are too huge. I had removed the deeplinks and convert it to links only. Meanwhile, please refer to this tutorial and resize them accordingly. Thanks. Quote

LEGO Guy Bri Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Great job recoloring this train 'MAWEK LEGO'. It looks awesome in white. The blue does sound like a good suggestion, throw a little contrast in there. Either way, still better looking then the original Quote
MAWEK LEGO Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 The blue line idea sounds great, i'm going to work on that. Thank you all for the great ideas and comments.. Quote
Sokratesz Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 The blue line idea sounds great, i'm going to work on that. Thank you all for the great ideas and comments.. Every train needs an odd-coloured stripe, it makes it go 25% faster with 72% more awesome. Quote
harnbak Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Every train needs an odd-coloured stripe, it makes it go 25% faster with 72% more awesome. #img# LOL! Another example from DK this time: the DSB's IC4 - although very funky equally unsuccessful unfortunately... Quote
broomhandle Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I agree with the blue line. it will break up the plain white. and thats the best part with legos, try it if it dosent work. change it. or change it back.... :) Quote
slovakiasteph Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Wow, I really like this! I don't have any trains (if I did get one, 7938 would be it), but I like it in white much better. I see a possible mod in my future... after I get the train, of course! Quote
legOZ Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I love the red 7938 train so much I had to try to create a white one. It's almost finished, just need to order a few little pieces.. you should add another line without white. red train has a white line at bottom. white train should have red-blue i don't know but there is a differnt colour line missing in your project. but it looks good i must admit that.bravo Quote
MAWEK LEGO Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 I had some time to experiment with the color line.. Quote
LegoSjaak Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I had some time to experiment with the color line.. The car with the double red striping looks the best, in my opinion. The blue line should be darker blue.....so the color is more powerfull.. I'm curious to the endresult!! Greetz, LegoSjaak Quote
Brickviller Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I would like to see a car with a dark blue or normal blue line. Red is also good, but I've seen many trains with just that red line. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The stripes and white color make it look like the Japanese Shinkansen, but I agree that the set looks much better in white than red. Quote
