Chromeknight Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Alright, here's a little disclaimer for my questers. I am in no way forging your results. I am using a six sided die. This die has the numbers 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 on it. The die is taken from a monopoly game, and has not been altered in any way. Your results are what you are genuinely rolling. You just all have total crap luck. Just thought that needed to be said. I intended no offense. I should have added a smiley too. I am enjoying the battle but it is frustrating not being able to hit the side of a barn. Perhaps I should take up training as a stormtrooper! Edited February 6, 2012 by Chromeknight Quote

Rumble Strike Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Apart from Tarn joining the ranks of De'kra, Maurice, Eric and Nerwen in the 'we should have gone to Specsavers' ranks, I have to admit I should have picked up on the double damage thing earlier! I guess it was just shock. Quote

Rumble Strike Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Don't remind me! The amount of Shields and Criticals you guys got was staggering. You blew through most of the hard battles I set up! Quote
legobodgers Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I think Amorith is a member of that club as well, the only time he ever hits anything is when he is on Nostrum! Sisco, if the amount of damages and special damages are anything to go by, this next round we should all get Shields and Critical hits? Also, Sandy, why was the Mages Shield changed to being a random element rather than the element that you chose to attack with? I remember Pandora talking about it in quest 3. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Add Leo to the list my battle against Alisha was evil. Quote

I'd like to know this as well, was it a game balance issue, or was it to add a certain "feel" or "flavor" to the Magic Burst? EDIT: Oh, and here's a PERFECT theme for Heroica! Jebediahs Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 EDIT: Oh, and here's a PERFECT theme for Heroica! Pieces of an anime intro-title sequence for a Heroica cartoon played in my head while I listened. Quote
Flipz Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Pieces of an anime intro-title sequence for a Heroica cartoon played in my head while I listened. If I can ever manage to find the minifig animation rig from the old LEGO Universe game files, I will add this to my list of projects to animate in Blender. Quote
Sandy Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Also, Sandy, why was the Mages Shield changed to being a random element rather than the element that you chose to attack with? I remember Pandora talking about it in quest 3. It was changed because sometimes Mages attack physically and thus do not choose an element. It felt more fair that the selection was random instead of the QM having to choose the element in those cases. The mages are already the most useful class if they have most of the gems, so they needed at least a minor hindrance to their power... Quote
Flipz Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Wait, Thothwick is a Metasimian color? Wow, I never knew... Thothwick, a level 11 Rouge I wonder how many other sneaky thief-types are sneakily playing colors when none of us realize it... Quote
Sandy Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Wait, Thothwick is a Metasimian color? Wow, I never knew... No, he just likes to apply it on every evening before he goes out as... THOTHWICTORIA Quote
K-Nut Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 The mages are already the most useful class if they have most of the gems, so they needed at least a minor hindrance to their power... Or, you know, all of them... And Now Althior is at Level 15! I just need to get a loaded die and I'm all set! Doc, does the Horse count as an artifact? Quote
CMP Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Doc, does the Horse count as an artifact? If it does, I'm going to count it as an accessory, lest the bestiary and the treasury converge... Quote
Scorpiox Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 If it does, I'm going to count it as an accessory, lest the bestiary and the treasury converge... No offence to you Doc, but it seems a little overpowered, I mean, double damage against pretty much everything. Quote
CMP Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 No offence to you Doc, but it seems a little overpowered, I mean, double damage against pretty much everything. The Quickdraw Quiver basically does that, if both attacks hit. Which gives me an idea of a fantastic Special for an enemy.... In any case, that's why only 2 artifacts at any time on one hero are allowed. Quote
K-Nut Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Which gives me an idea of a fantastic Special for an enemy.... Remind me to never sign into one of your quests. Quote
Scorpiox Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 The Quickdraw Quiver basically does that, if both attacks hit. Not really, as the quiver gives the player the chance to do something else, e.g. fight and drink potion. And the quiver is two seperate hits, with chances of critical or normal or shield for both, plus the chance of damage. Whereas the horse just doubles the actual hit. Quote

Well, I'm generalizing that the Quickdraw Quiver has a permanent positive effect, as do the Horses. And with that logic, the Quiver's actually better, and I don't think it's too overpowered. Why should the Horses be? Quote

Fine, I have no problem with the horse, just someone better make some good loot for me! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Doc, does the Horse count as an artifact? Yes. And I think I've changed my mind; you can go ahead and use them in this Quest if you want - provided you use them outside the fort. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Anyway the horse can't be used everywhere, such as indoors or on a ship Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 No offence to you Doc, but it seems a little overpowered, I mean, double damage against pretty much everything. QMs just have to have lots of spear-wielding enemies, then. But yeah, it might be overpowered. Maybe I'll make the existing horses better versions, and use weaker versions for later drops.
