OneSnowTrooper Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Today I received the set from Amazone France (ordered on the 26th). Because it's my daughters birthday I don't have much time today to build it and review it but I made some quick photos. Anyway here we go: Box overview: Side of box: Box - upcoming sets and some details of the set Box - Overview of inside The Bags - 4 in total: The Manuals - 2 in total: Sticker for the canopy: Medical droid wrapped in individual bag: Medical droid complete: All minifigs are in bag no.1 The new Clone Pilot: PART 2: Ok, found some time to build the cockpit Without the side pieces: With the sides attached: Different Angle: Bottom: I must admit I really like this part of the shuttle, it feels (looks) really authentic. I holds 1 seat for the Clone Pilot. What I also discovered (in the manual)is that the helmet of Darth Vader can be attached to his head with some sort of movement of parts...and then he will stand upwards when the movement is finished: 1st stage: 2nd stage: 3rd Part Today I will try to finish the shuttle. Will post photos along the way. If you want any specific info or photo let me know and I will try to help. First for Ras 74: The different stages of adding the helmet to the head of Darth Vader and putting him on his feet: Overview of the sick-bay Helmet attached to "mechanics" Helmet almost attached to Anakin (AKA Darth Vader): Helmet attached: Darth Vader upwards and ready for battle: Oke about this part of the construction: I like the build so far, it's not really repetive and details are great. Also seats for everyone which is a nice extra. Storage area for the Lightsabers, 1 for Darth and 1 for Palpatine: Bag 1 (cockpit) + Bag 2 (Base) attached: Landing gear, looks really good: Up: Down: Wings attached to open base: Wings in upward position: Finished Shuttle, overview: (all minifigs inside) Back of Shuttle: Folded wings: Side view (top wing 1 side studs 1 side not) negative point in my view Conclusion: I must admit I have really liked the build this of this Shuttle. Nice little details and it looks like the "real" deal. Minifigs are great and 4 is not bad. 70 Euro is a bit to much I gues but that counts for more LSW sets these days. Building time is around 1 hour I think if you keep the pace in it. The real negative in my view is the upper wing, better made it with studs showing on both sides. Overall I would give it the following scores: Minifigs : 8 Building time : 7 Price : 6 Overall look : 9 Edited May 4, 2010 by OneSnowTrooper Indexed Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Hmm, not much of an interior... Great figs though Quote
RoryoCox Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 This set looks great. I sort of like the interior. The minifigures are great along with the droid. Thanks for the pictures. Quote
Anio Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Excepted the medical droid, this model is a fail, just like many of those which have been released during the past 2 years... Thanks for the pictures anyway. Edited April 29, 2010 by Anio Quote
Lord Arjay Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Thank you for the pictures. The ship looks ok but the interior is pretty empty to me. I think I'll pass on this one. Quote
Big Cam Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Damn, France delivers!!! That Anakin fig and Palpy fig are FTW, I may just buy those, the ship doesn't look all that great. Quote
KimT Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Damn, France delivers!!!That Anakin fig and Palpy fig are FTW, I may just buy those, the ship doesn't look all that great. I had the same feeling about the Republic Attacj Shuttle, but that one turned out pretty well, when I finally bought and build it. So I'll pass on judging this as quickly. More pics and more reviews from our French members NOW! Quote
Masked Builder Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 So far you're doing a great review! I love that new Clone Pilot. Masked Out Quote
Minxter Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Thanks for the pictures! I won´t buy this since I am on a tight budget. But the figs are good! Minxter Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I think the set itself is really ugly, but I love the minifigs! I think I'll pass, I have to save for Slave 1 and the Harry Potter line. Thanks for the pictures though! Quote
Wout Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 The figs are very nice, especially the medical droid . The ship is quite nice, but not that special. Quote
Delta 38 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 This is all happening very fast! Not much of an interior, but nice feature. The medical droid seems to have a fixed head. The clone pilot is still a minute disappointment (I want all my clones to have a black head underneath). Quote
General Redwater Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I think this set is horrible. The overall shape of the ship is ugly. The only good things in my opinion are the minifigs. - General Redwater Quote
Rufus Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Well I love shuttles, and this is a must for me. The interior looks a bit shallow, like the RAS, but I'm sure it can be modded. How come it's so early in France? I thought it wasn't due till August. Quote

To my knowledge the new wave (summer) is due to be released in June. Noone knows why so early in France - perhaps some kind of test on sale and popoularity by TLG? Quote
legolandia Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 It's an average set but if it wasn't for the minifigs I wouldn't buy it. How come these are out in France? I thought this wasn't due until August with the rest of the sets. Or is that simply the case for UK only? Quote
gunm Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Wow, so those listings on Amazon.fr are the real deal!! Lucky French! Thanks for the early review. Beyond the figs, I'm not too interested in this set. It seems to share a lot with the RAS, as someone else mentioned, right down to the shallow interior. Looking forward to the full review (happy birthday btw), but I don't see my original feelings about the set changing. Quote
GIR 3691 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Does this set not come with the little cart they carried burned Anakin in? The manual looks to show a picture of the pilot hilariously carrying Anakin in his arms... wouldn't that be a logical inclusion here? I'm not really liking this set. It seems like a ship no one was really clamoring for, and it does not seem executed well. Quote
RileyC Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Man all those minifigs are fantastic! The detail on them is pretty amazing especially the med droid his torso piece is spot on. Thanks for this little sneak peak EDIT: I just noticed that on the back the pilot is carrying Anakin Stupid lazy med droid Edited April 29, 2010 by Roncanator Quote
OneSnowTrooper Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) I'm not from France, I'm from the Netherlands. Amazon France delivers in the EU that why I could buy it. My first impression is that the set is quit expensive (70 Euro) for the amount of pieces...maybe I can start building in a few hours so we can get a better idea of the shuttle itself :S Edited April 29, 2010 by OneSnowTrooper Quote
Anio Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 perhaps some kind of test on sale and popoularity by TLG? If so, they will be disappointed. haha. Quote
Calanon Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I'm not too sure on this set, I don't like the interior much and I hate to say it, but not even the minifgures provide enoguh appeal to me for this set. I shall have to wait until I see the full review before making my decision though. Also, excuse my ignorance but why is the clone pilots head white? I recently re-watched SW EPIII and I don't recall a pilot with a face like that. Quote
echobasehoth Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 although i dont speak french im pretty sure, "en stock" written in green is the same as english "in stock"i just chekced out amazon.fr the other new sets are available to and shipping to european destinations is possible. and shipping price aint bad. I thought it was August in America? Anyways thanks for the pics. It really looks like a fail, with random dark tan and white pieces. Quote
starstreak Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Lucky, I still want it. If it was asked, how much with shipping to the usa? Quote
