Hello dear community!

First, my excuses if you have the feeling I flood you with mini models. :sceptic: Let me explain what's going on. My holidays are over very soon and then the final phase of my current job is beginning. This means that when I don't share these models with you now, it'll probably take several months until I get the chance to do this. So I thought, better now than too late. :classic:

From the science fiction / horror thriller "Event Horizon" (1997) I'd like to show you the main ship - the Event Horizon. It is a quite unusual shape. There's the bridge section, and after a very looong central tube there is the engine section. The gravity drive is resembled by the printed with an droid eye technic ball piece of the "Jabba's Palace" set. Although the model is pretty small, it tunred out nicely, including the double-angled wings. It uses many technic pieces in the inner construction. :classic:

Event Horizon? Never heard of it but the ship looks really good. As usual you're able to capture the mere essance of a ship and transfer that into mini. The ship itself looks a little like a klingon ship though

Heya!

Thanks for your comment. :classic: I am aware that some of the movies I deal with here are less popular. But you're right, many movies "borrow" design similarities from popular movies. Now that you mention it, the ship really looks Klingon-like! :classic:

This movie here, Event Horizon, is a good movie, but also very scary. I didn't sleep all too well after having seen it for the first time. Below you'll see the cinema poster art of the movie. :classic:

A lot of people don't like this film. But I don't agree with them. It's one of my favourite sci-fi horror.

Your model is very good as usual. It's very nice ship.

Hello!

Thank you. :classic: It's really amazing how large this vessel is. It must be at least several hundred meters. The small search & rescue vessel Lewis & Clark would be another nice ship from that movie. But I can't build that to scale with the Event Horizon, as bricks that small don't exist. :classic:

Good is just a word. The reality... is much more awesome.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I love this movie, in a creepy sort of way, since every them I watch it alone, I totally freak myself out. But anyway, I really love the model.

No need to apologize for your mini's, they are outstanding and deserve to be seen.

I've never seen this movie but the mini of the shp looks great as usual.

Another outstanding mini added to your collection!

I haven't seen Event Horizon yet so I cannot really comment on how it looks like the real one.

Hello everybody,

and thank you again for your interest and compliments. :classic:

I might build a mini Lewis & Clark at some point, but the last time I tried my skills in minifigure, or as I call it, system-scale, I completely failed.

So, I'll probably stay with what I can best. :classic:

Great ship as usual!

I really love your minimodels and appreciate that you offer building instructions.

Have you ever made minimodels of that other ´97 Sci-Fi movie Starship Troopers? :)

Hello,

and thank you! :classic:

Sorry for the late answer, I didn't see it before. But I have good news as indeed there's a nice capital ship from "Starship Troopers" I have built. I hope I can take some pictures over the week-end. :classic:

Very neat and accurate model to the ship. I saw the film recently and while the first half was really good I felt it never took the step to go further, the scene where the ship starts leaking blood should have been the start of all sorts of psychologically assassinating imagery on the ship. Nevertheless, this is a great little mini.

Batbrick Away!
