I have Skype, and it is basically a better version of MSN. The same things apply, i.e. webcams, voice chat, emoticons etc, but it is easier to use.

I also thought it would be pretty useful for anyone on here to talk to other members to organise events, show MOCs or just chat. :classic:

But, there may be some of you who do not want to share their account details (like me).

But anyway, it is free and downloadable here!

Hope this was useful, and I put it in the right forum.

I use Skype too, mostly for talking to far away relatives, and since it's free, it's pretty awesome not having to pay for long distance call.

I use it for voice chat while playing games with friends. The sound quality is better than most gaming oriented VoIP programs (like Ventrilo or Teamspeak), and it allows several people to talk in one channel (unlike, say, Google Talk). It's a bit of a memory hog though, so I don't leave it open all the time.

My parents use it to make calls/videochat to El Salvador, but I don't have a webcam or headset or anything like that so I don't personally use it much.

And all you people complaining about calls being dropped, what do you expect for free?

I've never used it myself but I have recieved calls from my friend who was in Korea for the Air Force.

Audio quality was pretty spot on for it being an internet call.

BTW, this was like 3 years ago when it was fairly new still. Maybe longer?
