Lordofdragonss Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I started building this after I heard about Troll castle comming this year. This is the biggest MOC I ever build (and firs MOC on Eurobricks), so comments and critics are highly appreciated, thanks for viewing. Front: Insides: Closed: Catapult: Catapult based on Warcraft3: How castle looks todays: Little room for King: Prison, armory, throne room. I will keep updating this topic, if I add something to my castle. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Looks great! I see you're drawing inspiration for the future set. Kind of bare when the items inside are taken out. I really love the front facade. Quote
BlueBard Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Great MOC, and it seems easy to combine with the future set Anyway I have a little criticism to make but just about the style: I would have done some of the strucures (specially the gate, the door and the roofs) more "chaotic" (no so many regular angles) in order to give them a more orcish look. In fantasy stories, orcs don't use to build their own strucures (or they build very basic things) but to occupy other ones (like in the LOTR), but that's just my opinion Quote
sinoxp Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Fantastic first MOC! It looks like a set that dominates in terms of playability. I would recommend like what BlueBard said, making it more chaotic looking. I am currently trying to build an Orc themed MOC myself and find it really difficult to capture the perfect Warcraft Orc feel. I would suggest making your fortress higher, more brown, and bulking up that catapult to the size of my Warcraft vehicle MOCs. All in all, I am impressed with your creativity and hope you continue to astonish and amaze. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Thanks for nice welcome In fantasy stories, orcs don't use to build their own strucures (or they build very basic things) but to occupy other ones (like in the LOTR), but that's just my opinion I base my Orc on Warcraft, where Orcs have own culture on history, but you have right, I'm going to change the windows when I get more gray bricks. Dwarfinator Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Wow. I think that's even better than the real Troll Fortress! Very good... It looks like the windows are carved of stone. Did you intend for it to look like that, or did you want it to look shabby, sorta like Orcs would make it? OFF TOPC: Can I put you in a MOC? You've inspired me to make a Dwarf Fortress. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Still working on it aye? It looks like it's finished! I really like the shabby look on it, it makes it the perfect hideout for orcs. The modularity in this MOC is excellent, now it has a high playability and it can take almost every shape you want. The orc siege equipment looks great too, nice details! Especially the second one. This fortress contains everything what a fort needs to be a fort. I see prisons, weapon magazines, bedrooms... everything! Keep this up! Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) I build two new huts! Shaman hut (finaly I get Shaman cap!) Orcish Market Stand ( planing: make whole market in future), barn and house. Now I can't wait to make photo of all buildings together! Edited September 20, 2009 by Lordofdragonss Quote
Hound Knight Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Although I am not a big orc fan, I must say that your MOC is very impressive and cool-looking! Keep up the great work! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I like orcish MOCs a lot, and I can't wait to see the whole "town" connected. Thus far you're doing a great job, keep it up! And I like the shaman's staff, simple but very effective design! Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Ahhh LOD, the greatest of all dragon masters and the best friend an orc could ever have when facing the Crownie Scourge. Thank you for overseeing the construction of an orcish home. Your assistance is always appreciated by our people. I really like the bed in the king's chamber. The shaman and his hut are also well done. Can't wait until it's complete. Quote
saberwing Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 That thing looks really, really good! Much better than the original from LEGO. I also like your idea of the key on the giant troll's belt. Quote
Batbrick Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Absolutely flipping fantastic! I eventually didn't get the Orc Fortress set, so this is a pack of opened awesome for me to see this. A tremendous setup, I hope to see it expand, and I love the appropriate use of BURPS. The two huts are sweet too, especially the Shaman's one. Batbrick Away! Quote
phillip10 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 very cool! It is defiantly way better than the real troll fortress Quote
lefty Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Looks really clean and uniform, but is definitely a good start for something potentially awesome. The additional huts are cool as well. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Thanks all! Aspecially my Orc Warchief Jebediahs! I never expected that my MOC will be so popular! ^^ Now I must buy some "castle" bricks and do more for you! Plans: *Make -Orc leader (Any Ideas of pieces? I will buy Troll Fortress so I will have the king minifigure- But human crown isn't appropriate for Orc race! -Ogre warchief *Build -Market (open for all Lego races) -Two Towers for fortress -Two catapults Quote

FinalFeature Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I hope that cow doesn't end up on any dinner plates. The fortress looks very nice Lordofdragonss! I like that there's a Lego Logo on the side of the fortress! LegoGalactus Quote
BrickClick Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 This is a nice MOC! I like the idea of a large orc castle as the official one wasn't very large! Keep up the good work an I can't wait to see some updates! Quote
HumanPackMule Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I hope that cow doesn't end up on any dinner plates. Of course it will! Orcs are the anti-hippy, and so they devour all types of meat including beef! Quote
