Darth Legolas Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) Well I saw the best and worst sets of 2008, and it's kind of ahrd to decide that, since there are soooo many. But minifigs, there's a clear distinction. So here are mine, what are yours? Best: Worst: I know, I know. My list is all Star Wars. EDIT: Forgot to put "of 2008" in. Will someone please fix that? Etzel Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I think the best 08 minifig was the maiden from the Castle Advent Calendar:  The worst minfig was harder to decide. I don't like any of the CW SW minfigs but I don't own any of them so it seems wrong to take them. I think I go with Dr. Inferno instead (which I have). I just think he looks ridiculous with that hair and face. Quote
darkrebellion Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Well here are mine: Best: "Starkiller minifigure" Worst: "Magnaguard minifigure" (I know is a little post but that all I can said ) Quote
gravysam Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 best: plokoon or clone trooper! i cant decide! worst: green trans alien (mars mission) Quote
Athos Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Didn't we have this conversation already? At least for the best figure? I seem to recall voting for the jester... Steve Quote
Derek Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Best: Tie between Indiana Jones and any of the clone troopers Worst: Any of the Factory figures. They are either a mish-mash of ones from other themes, or they are covered in stickers. Quote
Dennimator Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Worst: Why Ahsoka? I´m sure that many AFOLs (and TFOLS) would protest if TLC didn´t release a minifig of her as she is a big part of the CW, and of course she look like that, it´s minifig pieces. I don´t expect TLC to make a new mold for the minifigs, including Ahsoka. Best: Mutt, Agent chase and all the other figs that has the new hairpiece. Worst: Well...I don´t know! Does Bionicles count as figs? Quote

Does Bionicles count as figs? In 2007 they counted. And I agree then that they were bad. In 2006, each character had individual head moulds, but in 2007 there were about half the amount of heads recoloured instead. To make things worse, a couple of minifigs didn't even exist in the story, and one had the wrong head shape even when the correct one existed in other colours! Quote
Thee Pirate Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 The best is a toss up between the Pirate chick with the eyepatch, the new Mermaid chick, and Indiana Jones (Do you realize that Harrison Ford is the only person in the entire world to be immortalized in Lego form twice? That's how you know you've made it in the world  ) Worst... Irena from IJ, or that stupid smiley freckled face in the Pirate Builder set. After I put the police captain from the 2005 Police station (7237) that pirate captain looked a lot better. cagri Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I say the best figure so far is Willie Scott. She is simply beautiful: I don't know of any bad figures this year, I liked what I have seen. Quote
Joebot Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Do you realize that Harrison Ford is the only person in the entire world to be immortalized in Lego form twice? Actually that's not true. Alfred Molina played Satipo in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (available in the Temple Escape set) and Doctor Octopus (available in several Spiderman sets). I will now go stick my own head in the toilet for being a huge nerd for knowing that ... Anyway, my favorite mini-fig of the year is Harley Quinn. Least favorite has got to be that creepy, dead-eyed Anakin mini-fig. Quote
Athos Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (Do you realize that Harrison Ford is the only person in the entire world to be immortalized in Lego form twice? That's how you know you've made it in the world  ) I imagine Julian Glover will be added to that list soon too, since he played General Veers (already done in the walking AT-AT) and Walter Donovan (who I would suspect will be made sometime for the Indy line). puddleglum Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Do you realize that Harrison Ford is the only person in the entire world to be immortalized in Lego form twice? Well done, Joebot! But, if we're going by sheer number of different minifigs, I would say that Daniel Radcliffe has everyone licked - according to BL there are 19 distinct HP minifigs. Mark Hamill isn't too far back with 16 forms of Luke Skywalker. Quote
Keith Turner Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 The best is a toss up between the Pirate chick with the eyepatch, the new Mermaid chick, and Indiana Jones (Do you realize that Harrison Ford is the only person in the entire world to be immortalized in Lego form twice? hewkii9 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) Your Danny Radcliffes and your Marky Mark Hamills ain't got nothin' on this fella... This feller Edited January 15, 2009 by hewkii9 Quote
mania3 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Worst: Any of the Factory figures. They are either a mish-mash of ones from other themes, or they are covered in stickers. Ugh, I totally agree. They are pretty bad. The worst ones are in the Custom Car Garage. The inclusion of the Agents villain torso was ridiculous. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Best Figure: Finally! An awesome female minifig with a decent role to play! Worst: Hmm, cannot decide, will have to go with anything Clone Wars... Not only do they cost the earth and are flesh tone, they have freaky fugly faces that will not fit into any of the sparse flesh tone fig MOCs/vigs I make. Quote
Loganwan Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Best: Agent Trace (The Lady Agent) Worse: Green Aliens from Mars Mission (They actually kept me from buying any sets. Hopefully the aliens in the new Space Police 3 will be better) Quote
Bricks Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Best: -P.M.-Monster -Chrome Vader Worst: -Such Pirate Figures Greetings 'Bricks' Quote
Algernon Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Worst:-Such Pirate Figures Greetings 'Bricks' MY EYES Quote
JimBee Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 My favorite figure ever is probably the one that Algernon nominated, except the version that I remember has an all-black helmet (no printing), and black shoulder pads. The worst, IMO, would definitely be these. Quote
Thee Pirate Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Well done, Joebot! But, if we're going by sheer number of different minifigs, I would say that Daniel Radcliffe has everyone licked - according to BL there are 19 distinct HP minifigs. Mark Hamill isn't too far back with 16 forms of Luke Skywalker. Oh jeez... Daniel Radcliffe doesn't count, because he's only been immortalized as Harry Potter, neither does Mark Hamill, since he was only Luke Skywalker. If you want to get technical you can almost count Avatar and Spiderman as marks for Hamill, but he only provided voices Harrison Ford, on the other hand, has been in two different Lego collections.. and since the Spiderman sets came out in my dark ages, I forgot about Alfred Molina So let's get back to Indiana Jones being awesome for giving us great new figures, and immortalizing characters from completely different universes placed by same actors... uuuhm not sure how to phrase that last part to make sense. Quote
Rijkvv Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 My favorite: Close second: The worst: Galidor. Never heard of it, untill I readed the post of JimButcher. As I can remember, these were never released in Europe. Lucky for me... Quote
