I was trying to learn how to use paint.net so I started working on custom minifigs. I have made some concepts of Captain Argyus from the Clone Wars TV series.

First this is who I based the minifig off of:

This is the pic for my orginal idea, but I'm not sure how would cut and paint the clone helmet.

I also thought about painting the hoplite helmet from BrickForge blue.

I also thought that adding shoulder decals would add to the figure.

If anybody has any experience with painting minifig helmets, I would like to know what is the best paint to use?

Thanks for looking.

Nice beginning!

In my opinion these are the best options, specially concerning the helmet because I think it would be a bit too difficult to adapt that clone helmet to a senate guard one.

I think painting the BrickForge helmet would be your best option, and you keep your Clone helmet intact. I can't offer you advice on decals, however I can provide encouragement in saying that the plans for the torso are looking good so far and I look forward to seeing the final figure!

Great beginning! It looks a lot like what I'd think Lego Senate Commandos will look like. Maybe when the Toyfair is going on we can compare your finished fig to the ones in the Venator!

Ha ha I would like to see my figure compared to an official lego one.
