ParmBrick Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Hi guys! Today I show you one of my latest creations, the Piaggio "Ape" MP-600. The Piaggio "Ape" is a three-wheeled light commercial vehicle, manufactured and marketed by Piaggio as an adaptation of the company's Vespa scooter. It has been in continuous production since its 1948 introduction and is offered in numerous body configurations, serving a range of utilitarian functions. This version was designed, built and sold between 1968–1978. "MP" stood for Motore Posteriore (Rear Engine), the engine was moved from the cab to the rear to improve comfort. This model was inspired by ABrickDreamer, with some important changes and upgrades: better proportions, more spacious cockpit (now can accomodate a minifig with every haircuts), more details (such as engine, rear view mirrors and spare wheel), overall design inspired by another version of the "Ape" Piaggio. Feuer Zug Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Oooh, cute little hauler. I like the mix of classic wheels and new parts. Having it haul a Vespa is perfect. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Fantastic, an unmissable piece in the collection of Italian vehicles ...the Vespa loaded on the rear is the icing on the cake! Quote
Toastie Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I was literally waiting for @LEGO Train 12 Volts reply ;) All you said - so nicely done. And then look at the scale - incredible! You really made excellent use of pieces and then created the touch of "Italy" - I love it. Wow. All the best and congratulations! Thorsten Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Eheheh ...no doubt you got me! I can also say that when I present my next Italian rolling stock there will also be my version of the Piaggio Ape ...so predictable am I? Quote
Withacee Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I've been looking for a LEGO Piaggio a while back. Found a few, but this one is absolutely the best I've seen. The proportions are near-perfect, in my opinion. Not that easy on such a small scale, this is a great rendition! Keep clicking those bricks together! Quote

Thank you too! Actually I'm not satisfied with the Vespa how I built it, I think that the rear could be done better. Sven J Posted March 1 Posted March 1 This is extremely cute! And like @LEGO Train 12 Volts, I think the Vespa is a perfect addition. 5 hours ago, ParmBrick said: so feel free to suggest any improvements if you have any. Ok, so I hope you don't mind one question: Wouldn't it be possible to use a transparent brick/panel for the rear window instead of just leaving a hole? Quote
