I'm assuming POTC isn't coming back but at the same time a bunch of pirates parts got retired on PAB including imperial uniforms...worrying. This points to licensed sets and there have been 0 rumours of POTC. The goonies ship and BDP are the only things I can think of right now Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be one piece sets and I’m not thrilled about that Quote

The same leak said f1 collectible minifigures, another series of marvel collectible figs (spider verse) and more fortnight sets. considering the others have all come true, I’d say the one piece (Netflix not anime series) ones are what he’s talking about. a_clay_brick Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Netflix One Piece has now been reported by Kramer. Don't think that's all though... Quote

Jiesdeo Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I'm not that excited for this. Maybe there will be some boat parts that could be useful. Any sails will probably be printed according to the series so that you can't use it for other things though. The one thing I'm excited for is the opportunity to get a somewhat accurate tar hat mould from the main characters straw hat (even though it's not flat on top...). Quote
Cheesefinder Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I think it’s a good idea for a run of sets. I don’t think it will quite scratch the classic pirates itch for me, however these sets are likely to be colorful and creative. Depending on how they turn out I might be interested. When I first heard of the DnD castle set I was uninterested but the final design and then the CMF series made that turn out very cool as a more fantasy castle spinoff thing. This could be similar where they won’t necessarily go with traditional pirate sets but could be a neat accompaniment. As others have said maybe the parts that come from these sets could be quite useful in MOCs Quote
Bart Posted January 5 Posted January 5 What is One Piece? I've never heard of this, and now it's going to be a Lego theme? Quote
Murdoch17 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) 1 hour ago, Bart said: What is One Piece? I've never heard of this, and now it's going to be a Lego theme? It's a Japanese manga series, a 1999 anime series with over 1,100 episodes (and counting!) and a bunch of films, plus a newer 2023 live action Netflix show. The only reason I know any of this is because: A) I looked it up on Wikipedia. B) I know some people who are obsessed with the older show and are really excited for it, but I'm not one of those people who cares one iota about this theme... if it's based off the original anime, it would shock me as it's far too adult for LEGO from what I've been told / been shown by my friend. Yperio_Bricks Posted January 5 Posted January 5 It will be based on the Netflix show. That's what the rumor says. Quote
karrit Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I never heard of it either. Count me as only interested if there are good usable pirate & ship parts. Quote

I just watched the trailer on YT and some photos. 42 minutes ago, karrit said: Count me as only interested if there are good usable pirate & ship parts. Exactly what I am thinking. Unfortunately the main protagonists do not look like (historically accurate) pirates. At least the price per piece is not as high as in other licensed themes. I wonder what the 3402pcs set will be? A big ship? But Black Pearl and another ship on shelves at the same time - can it be? I don't even know how many parts a big ship would have nowadays. Quote
Elephant Knight Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I shall be another who is only interested in the useful pirate pieces that may come forth. EKnight Quote
Jiesdeo Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Hmm the lack of engagement in this thread really speaks volumes about the lack of excitement of this from Lego Pirates fans. Quote

In fairness apart from set numbers and prices and a handful of leaked parts, there's not much to discuss. I expect when set pictures actually show up it'll be easier for Pirates fans to evaluate how relevant the theme is or isn't to their particular interests. Quote

I feel this theme is not made for Classic Pirates fans but for anime fans and One Piece fans specifically. For example, I didn't even think the thread for this theme would be here because for me One Piece is more like an action and adventure story with fantasy than just a story of pirates. Because yeah, there are pirates in the story but also cyborgs, zombies, demons and much more. Anyways, I believe the ships that this theme can deliver will be really appreciated by everyone. Now, if I had to make guesses about these sets we'll be getting this summer, I would say: 75636 I think this could be two options: a small set based on Luffy vs Buggy or a small set based on Luffy vs Kuro. In option one, the set would be a small circus; in option two, a small room from Kaya's mansion. 75637 This set can depict Shanks scene where he saves Luffy from the Lord of the Coast, so the main build would be the Lord of the Coast (its like a really big eel) and a small boat with kid Luffy and Shanks. 75638 This has to be Arlong Park, so for minifigures I would go with Luffy, Nami and Arlong. 75639 I feel this is the Going Merry that is the ship of the protagonists so naturally would include Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji. Given is a small ship in comparison with others, I feel this is likely. 75640: If is based on the live action, the most obvious choice would be the Baratie because the staff of the live action were really happy with it and making it a big set would look incredible. Minifigures I would say: Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Zeff, Arlong and Mihawk, maybe Don Krieg too though he didn't appear much in the live action but he was the main villain of this scene in the anime. Khargeust Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Keep in mind that these five sets are not necessarily all based on the first season since the second season will probably be out by August. Or they are all based on the first season and a second batch of sets is planned for January 2026 this time based on the second season. Time will tell. Quote

The show is not that popular worldwide, so the name means nothing to some people 2. The show has pirate themes, but they don't necessarily align with the style of Lego-style pirates 3. The minifigures for the sets will most likely use flesh-coloured tones, and I dare say most Lego Pirate fans (myself included) are not particularly excited about this Quote
RenLUG - Central Florida Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Excited for this as both a One Piece theme which can bring newer builders into the hobby and possible head color swap to go along with classic Lego pirates. Quote

Lyichir Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Fun message from the writer/artist behind the manga as well. Seems he's been a fan for a while. Quote
