benderisgreat Posted January 21 Posted January 21 New rumors for summer base sound good to me, except for another Quinjet this time 120$! Oscorp sounds like a highlight of the wave and since it’s comic based hopefully we get some new characters. New Green Goblin is a guarantee at this point, maybe even Norman himself? I just hope we either get new versions of spidey villains we haven’t seen in a while like Kraven, Shocker or Scorpion or some new ones. Hopefully the build is good and maybe this set will be as iconic as Bridge Battle from 2016. Quinjet sound boring and unnecessary especially since 2023 one was so good! It all comes down to minifigs and Quicksilver alone won’t sell this set to me. Also I’m baffled why Lego didn’t include Ultron here… Iron Man 2 set sounds like a good figure pack so I’m definitely interested in this set. Endgame battle sets are starting to get annoying considering how frequently we get them. New Iron Patriot sounds nice but when we’re getting Endgame Black Widow or Ronin? It’s been 6 years since Endgame came out and they are the only Avengers still missing from the lineup. Hero busts are interesting choice, but I need to see pictures to decide on them. And Cap vs Thanos 4+ set sounds lame but it’s 4+ so no harm done here but this set’s existence. Quote
DaredevilFan Posted January 21 Posted January 21 The final set is Peter’s apartment (76317) - $50 can connect to deli. Based on comics tho. Good opportunity for a new comic MJ Quote
doclord Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Mini-modulars based off series-agnostic New York is a nice idea. Quote
JeanGreyForever Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Isn't the deli set themed to ITSV? Weird that it connects to a comic book version of Peter's apartment. Just hoping MJ shows up in one of these sets. The ban on her has been weird. Really want a 616 Gwen as well. Quote
oxy220 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 For some reason, it seems to me that the information about 76317 is fake. It just seems like someone's fantasy. Quote
JeanGreyForever Posted January 21 Posted January 21 That makes more sense. It didn't seem logical to connect those two sets. A playset Oscorp Tower bodes well for a D2C version down the line. We got multiple Daily Bugles, Avengers Towers, and the Sanctum Sanctorum as playline sets before their D2C counterparts. At least we should finally get Norman and Harry minifigs. I'm not sure why people are surprised about the lack of X-Men sets. We were already told the X-Mansion was a one and done. Lego was waiting to see how that sold before committing to more sets. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Yeah, Peter's apartment sounds way too good for LEGO to make. Also, I don't know why people think every rumoured Spider-Man set will suddenly connect to the deli. It's a Spider-Verse set, and they wouldn't mix those with random comicbook Spider-Man ones. If they ever make an extension for it, it'll have to be another Spider-Verse set. Quote
CF Mitch Posted January 21 Posted January 21 So, interesting news, all in all... I'm slightly intrigued by the Oscorp Tower, but I suspect I'll skip it. I do feel sorry for the folks who wanted a D2C-level Oscorp, but personally I'm not too heart-broken about it. The Iron Man 2 sets sounds nice. If the Hammer drones look good, I might pick it up All the other sets sounds a bit of a mixed bunch, but there might be some nice ones among them. Regards, Mitch Quote

Good opportunity for a new comic MJ How bizarre. A comic Spider-Man apartment that connects to a Sony-verse Deli that also maybe includes Mr Negative (depending on how that rumor pans out, but I don’t see anywhere else he could be included). I assume Peter and Spidey are given. Hopefully comic MJ finally makes another appearance, although I doubt anything is going to top the 2014 figure (seeing how most civilians are just pursuit customs these days). Quote

doclord Posted January 21 Posted January 21 People thinking that the "Spidey street" modulars not linking up across series doesn't make sense should remember that the marvel modulars now bounce between Lego-original Daily Bugle, two MCU buildings and an animated show X-Mansion. Quote

That’s a very good point. End of the day, we’re getting more Spider-Man sets that aren’t pointless vehicles, seemingly with new villains, that we can connect together to make a NYC playset for Spidey and Friends. That’s a win IMO. Just a prediction. I think Oscorp will also connect. Edited January 21 by psqidexslizer Quote
thebricksbear Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Spidey street modulars is actually pretty genius. More modular buildings for people who can't afford $300 sets as well as fleshing out the city for those that do. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 21 Posted January 21 W—wait... PETER'S APARTMENT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING?! Did LEGO Marvel suddenly become good? Are they stupid... not? In all seriousness, that sounds amazing. I will absolutely get it, even if just to support a line of small NYC modulars. That's exactly what I've been waiting for. Can't wait to hear more about it. Kinda interesting that the Summer wave is either sets I genuinely couldn't care less about, and the coolest-sounding sets ever (Peter's apartment, Spider-Man 2 set, Oscorp). Quote

Definitely feels like Marvel is pivoting away from post-IS MCU in lieu of declining popularity and is instead leaning on Spider-man as a whole to make up for the non-IS set. I'm sure the Bugle constantly selling for years and years has helped this. Quote
upliftingbricks Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Looking forward to the Nelson and Murdock mini-Modular next year So Im assuming the Apartment will sit on top of the deli and not be a connected building next to it? Quote
thebricksbear Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Looks like it's $50 though... If it's the same size as the Spiderverse set, it's absolutely a bricklink for me. No way am I telling Lego these tiny sets are worth $50. Quote

But The Avengers could appear in some of them, or even have some of their own. Quote

Especially if Oscorp Tower is designed to fit in with these sets as well, then a Fisk Tower set could follow. I could see the shawarma shop from the first Avengers fitting in too. Quote

Daily Bugle is probably on the radar for next year, especially if the modular does actually retire at the end of this year. Fisk Tower from ITSV, like you said, is another one. I could also see a Bank Heist based on Spider-Man 2 reusing the minifigures from this year’s train fight. And, obviously, we need a museum for Venom to rob 😝. Quote

Everything else sounds like an easy skip, which is good because there's a lot of other themes coming out around the same time that I'd probably want to focus on and can save for the 2026/2027 wallet-punch of Avengers Doomsday, Spider-man 4 and Avengers Secret Wars - let alone other themes. BrickBob Studpants Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Kind of a mixed bag for me. The train being the only Raimi set is a big letdown and the Infinity Saga sets sound boring, except for the Hammer drones, which we‘ve never had before! Then there‘s the Endgame set. How many of these will they crank out?! Also, what is Iron Patriot doing here, shouldn‘t it be Rescue? On the other hand, Oscorp and the apartment set sound great! Quote
icm Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I don't like the AoU Quinjet design as much as I like the original Quinjet, but at 1131 pieces the new AoU Quinjet should hopefully be just as good of a model as the 2022 Quinjet. I don't really care about having the Phase II variants of the characters and I don't need Quicksilver or Ultron, so I hope I'll be able to get just the jet without minifigs for half price or less.
