Yeh you are correct in a way... but I guess what many miss is a normal line of like 5-6 sets, where 1 is castle (Like Kingdoms or Black Knight castle type) and then other medium and small sets....

I don't think BDP really counts as "good for castle fans." There are no new or unique pieces or prints. You can literally buy all of those pieces on PAB if you want. They're glorified MOCs in many ways. Since the Medieval Blacksmith (2021), it has really just been LKC and MTS, plus some GWPs and CMFs in the four years since. It could certainly be a lot worse, but I'm not sure I would call most of those "good years" for castle fans

I completely agree, they are nice mocs but they do not bring anything new to the table. They have become rather expensive as well, personally I have no interest in buying them.

With both Castle sets retiring this year the parts they could use for designing BL sets will be very limited, but more importantly the countdown start for when the moulds are destroyed. So hopefully we get a new Castle set soon that can keep most of the moulds alive

Which moulds do you mean? Animals can come in other themes, the only mould that comes to mind right now is the civilian headgear - and many printed pieces ofc.

New molds I can see being a downer, but apples to apples.  It's not like the creator 3-in1 gave us anything we couldn't get elsewhere and it was still a fantastic 'Castle' set that was many people's gateway back to Castle themes.

It does suck we don't have small sets or battlepacks, but tbh there's only two outcomes I've cone to terms with. Either it's gonna be some hard to find CMF everyone wants to army build, or it"s an expensive or obscure set that's not ideal to get more than one of unless you really have the funds.

I think we have the variety we've been looking for, just not the value of Ninjago, which I think is the standard many expect to weigh it against.

Every year has been good to us, but it's never going to be great all the time.  Lego is playing the long game on us fans.

Thing is, that unless they plan a big castle set, they are also basically useless.

Krakens and Griffins?! 

I really thought Ravens would win considering how many fans it has.

Krakens seems popular too. Griffins surprises me but it is  the most classic medieval sigil.

Lions, eagles,bears, horses, wyverns and griffins are all sigils that are real medieval sigils.

They could be used in LotR. Sure it isn´t exactly likely they would use the budget for a horse barding, but it is at least possible.

Seems like we do. And personally, sure Ravens are quite popular, but Griffins and Krakens both seemed even more popular. Honestly, neither of those winning would have surprised me that much, aside from the Bulls, which not many seemed to care about really. On a side note, there was a vote on a german fan blog, and interestingly the results there matched with the results presented in the leak - for both castle and space. First and second were pretty close, with the third place beeing behind by a bigger margin, which might be the reason why they choose to do two each, though of course the results in the global vote from Lego might vary from that. Also possible they were going to include two anyways.

Castle will go through an interesting period, with 1, possibly 2 Castle 3-in-1 sets coming (whatever that unicorn castle might be), and then as it currently seems, 2 icons sets  (Lion Knights / Medieval Townsquare) possibly retiring at the end of 2025.

Bricklink Designer program sets are still basicly MOC so I won't ever count those in speculations.

Seeing how we're getting something that is most definately an actual castle at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if the unicorn one was a bouncy castle...

True, 3-in-1 had been quite low on minifig sets for a while, as they did mega focus on those animals and objects, and fairground style sets have been part of the theme for a long time now , and it also comes out at the same time as a 3-in-1 Haunted House, so having 1 "happy" bright colored unicorn castle being some kids playground/bouncy castle, next to a presumed, halloweeny / ghost / skeleton / spider whatever Haunted House (unless they surprise me and go full Monster Fighters with no ticket booth and just monster/zombie/mummy minifigs etc)

On reddit there was a similar poll with different end results : number one by far : Krakens

2 Ravens

3 Griffins

4 Bulls

But I am happy with Griffins.

These are the parts, prints and different colour of parts that will retire with the 2 Castle sets that I found (did not bother with faceprints). I am sure some of them will be "saved" by upcoming sets, but definitely not all. Hopefully we get a new Castle set in 2027!

Whoa, new leak for upcoming Creator Castle that disputes prior leaks.  Now it's two factions - white and blue horse & yellow and black snake!  Discord has sketches.  

I'm excited for two, but with the competing leaks, I'll be hesitant to believe anything strongly or to remodel my kingdoms to incorporate the new factions until the official reveals.

I find the idea that they completely redesigned the figures and added a whole new (Snake) faction to boot at the last minute kind of hard to believe, honestly. Has such a thing ever happened before?

If they where prelims in the first leak they could both be right. Almost no picture leaks from summer set, is not that late?

I'm quite confused by the competing leaks, too.  It's possible the early ones were from a preliminary set and not from retailer catalogs, which are much closer to final.  Preliminary sets have leaked before (the survey leak), but as suspected that was much earlier than we've seen for this set.

Then again BDP shows that prints and graphic design don't take long to finalize.  For example, stickers/prints were finalized in less than 4 months for BDP 6, all the while completing the other finalization work.  

I find it really intriguing that the colors for the snake are black and yellow - same as Ravens!  It's quite possible that the factions in Creator Knight Castle were in limbo until the Prize Machine results and final decision (the including two factions) was made.  The original leak said the horse colors were black/gray/red, which is perhaps too similar to Griffon.  

I find the leaks really interesting to follow, but I'm much more skeptical of future leaks on this set on particular.  Hopefully we see pictures soon!

It's always possible that whoever saw the image didn't know the difference between a horse and a griffon, and they are the same thing? Or that the picture quality was poor and they have assumed a horse, but it's actually a griffon.

It would also make a lot of sense for new factions from the prize machine set to appear in other sets too, so maybe both will feature in the Creator castle?
