As for the new 50 bucks set, maybe it's a V19 Torrent? If I recall correctly, they were piloted by clones with yellow helmets.

Wasn't the old rumored V-19 also supposed to be $50?

If true, maybe a new Phase I Cody and finless Pilot? :innocent:

I've been thinking about the new Death Star, what if the set is half a sphere, with one side being a detailed exterior of the base and the other being different scenes from inside the Death Star like the Throne room and the trash compactor.

I'm actually starting to miss late 2010s Lego Star Wars because even though there were a lot of sequels sets which I'm not a fan of, at least we still got highly detailed and accurate playsets and less overpriced sets.

I left my dark ages in the winter of 2028/2019 and from what i read in the past years, researching all the stuff, looking at all the pictures of all the sets.... i really missed out on the best years of Lego Star Wars :cry3:  :cry3:

And those years ain't comming back. It only gets worse with every year. So sad

EDIT: I want to add, that i bought sets from many different themes in the first couple years. By the time i was focussing on LSW, all the sequel sets were basically retired.

Funny thing is, people will always complain. In 2018 people complained that LSW had too many sequel sets and too many rehashes; IIRC in a Brickset poll it was one of the lowest-rated themes of the year. In retrospect 2018 was a pretty great year for the theme: the best OT X-wing, the best OT TIE fighter, a great Delta-7B at a great price, the first Yoda hut since 2004, a fresh new Hoth playset that had never been done before (medical chamber), and more. If LSW doesn't follow Lego DC's trajectory into irrelevance, people may look back on 2024 and wonder why we were complaining about all the buildable characters and all the midi-scale starships, because those were so new and different from what had been made before.

yeah we got a lot of great sets from the OT, R1, and the few prequel sets during that time were pretty solid, even the sequel sets were good if you enjoyed the films. Looking back 2019 was the end of an era, before the 18+ set plague started taking over....

My thoughts exactly!

I would rather get a generic P1 officer (since we are missing all but the Commander in the current style!) before we start getting named characters; I also want a regular P1 Shiny in the set, as they are still exclusive to the blister pack! Maybe Clone armour Obi-Wan to round out the lineup?

The only real iconic scene on DSII is the throne room scene which we’ve just had an over expensive diorama of and 2 system scale sets in the past 5-10 years. The only thing I can see this being if it truly is a 1000 set based on DSII is just a display model

I would personally like to see a removable exterior shell (at least for the fully-constructed half) with a Microscale interior and visible structural elements (such as the reactor core); a removable superlaser (separate from the shell) would also be nice!

My only hope for this set is if it is a minifig scale Death Star and it’s a reimagining of the one that retired a while back which features scenes from ANH, ROTJ and maybe even Rogue1 and it had 20-30 figures but even then 1000 for a kids toy even aimed at an adult audience is mad. My wife doesn’t mind me collecting Lego because it used to be a lot cheaper than other hobbies but at this rate I think it’s just crazy.

NO. A set based on R1/ANH/RotJ would inevitably have exclusive Minifigs (even just obscure officers like Bast or Romodi), and I shudder to think of what those BrickLink prices will be! I would much prefer to get a DSI conference room and/or DSII Emperor’s arrival diorama (if LEGO is just taking a break from them)!

The bricklink prices if they had a bast, motti, tagge, romodi, Jerrjerod, sim aloo, or Janus greejatus would probably make the Death Star price look reasonable.

Yes, but in, like, 2018. That'd be $63 today even without lego's own price increases.
I wouldn't rule out a torrent, but I doubt it's THAT torrent- even removing most of the figs from that set's somewhat generous fig count, I can't see a set worth $50 in 2018 being worth the same in lego 2025.

so the 199 dollar set was an 18+ rumoured wasn’t it? That’s raised a few red flags for me. When do Lego do 18+ system scale sets for Star Wars? It’s normally only for UCS right? Whatever it may be I fear it is more of a gimmicky set than a normal set or dare I say it another buildable figure lol. one of you guys will know when/if we’ve had 18+ sets but I get the feeling we don’t normally especially for an August/summer release

long story short

Exactly!
I have the first Death Star playset from '08 and though I let it get quite dusty, I'm still perfectly satisfied with it, having collected minifigures over the year to fill up the seats at the conference room table, the configuration/scene I'm rather proud of.

Also, if it turns out to be a Death Star II-inspired set, it's a definite pass.

Regards,
Mitch

MTT isn’t that interesting to me as it is right now. I’m hoping for some good imperial stuff that’s not going to bankrupt me. Tie Reaper has been snatched from my grasp once again though. Maybe a Tie Defender? It could reuse a Tie Pilot, Thrawn and a Death Trooper.

I’m just a Clone Hoth Imperial Lego Lover guy

I agree it’s not exactly my top choice for a big summer set either (seriously, is a Stinger Mantis that obscenely risky? I will never stop lamenting this), but I’m hoping between this and whatever set has a P1 clone pilot that we get Obi-Wan in his Clone Wars armour. It’s such an iconic look.

I’m sure there’s at least 3-4 other system builds this summer although it’s wild saying that as if it’s a big deal. I’ll cling onto Max’s words that we’re in for some good stuff even if they may be few and far between.

@icm I agree 2018 has been one of the best years for Lego Star Wars on record. Crazy number of new minifigure moulds, strong builds and coverage of content, plus the Solo sets were incredibly well made despite the relatively low anticipation for the film’s release.

Yeah I know it can be a contentious topic but I hate when characters are locked behind super expensive sets. Having an exclusive version is one thing but having a character's only appearance be in a set unobtainable for most people sucks (e.g. Kuiil and Mythrol in the Razor Crest).

The Brick Fanatics article addressing the buildable K-2SO rumour has a list of 2025 sets containing “[TBC] Andor set”, in addition to the U-Wing and the K-2SO - does this mean that there’s (possibly) a third Andor set coming next year? Or rather, a second ACTUAL Andor set? There’s no set number or anything attached to it so I feel like they probably just forgot to remove it when they added K-2SO.

Just a couple of thoughts / guesses after the 1k shock:

Buildable Figures are getting out of hand. I mean, I like them and I own most of them, but 2 per year are fine with me.
That said: My guess for the 200$ (assumed) buildable character: Either Jabba or the Rancor. A leaker described it as being a „big“ buildable figure, so I‘m looking for a big fig getting the treatment.

The 50$ set: Maybe a T47 Snowspeeder in scale for the hordes of UCS AT-ATs on our shelves?

I asked this in the mentioned article and it was just the old spot for K-2SO. Now the list was updated and shows the two sets for Andor.

Galactic Marines and Bacara coming?

It's the only logical conclusion from it.

This choice cements the dim future of LSW for me. Buildibles and vehicles (in both the figurative and literal sense) for clone troopers, and not much else.
