ks6349 Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 we can see that the green one, blue one, and the white one have new generation with different Lego set number, but how about the sand base plate? Does Lego no longer want to release sand base plates? Quote

Does Lego no longer want to release sand base plates? They rotate colors available every couple years. Tan went away to make room for white. Give them a few years, they'll circle back eventually. neithan Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 There are a plethora of base plates available, just from other brands, but with equal quality - or even stackable. So there are options right now, of course sites like bricklink would also work.^^ Quote
Mylenium Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 I have one, but even when I bought it used (good condition) LEGO hadn't produced Tan plates for two or three years. I'm with the others, though. If you really need base plates there are other brands which offer much more color variety and even ones with printed on textures and their quality is more than adequate. Of course LEGO could decide to produce Tan base plates tomorrow, but given on how limited a basis base plates are even used these days in sets I wouldn't count on it. Took them forever to bring back the White ones last year and could well be another five years before they switch colors again. Mylenium Quote
MAB Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Maybe go for 16x16 plates instead. Four of those are cheaper than a secondary market baseplate. Quote
