Wurger49 Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 (edited) The Imperial Gunship is very industrial looking with sharp edges and pointy corners, a bulky angular armored ship devoid of the organic curved looks of the Republic Gunship with bubble canopies and round fuselage. Like the Republic Gunship, the crew sits in tandem, with the co-pilot/ sitting behind and above the pilot. The stepped design replaced the double bubble canopy design of the Republic era. It has three chin-mounted laser cannons at the nose of the ship, one dorsal-mounted twin-barreled laser cannon turret between the two engines. Two missile launchers are mounted in front of the engine pods, they could fire a variety of missiles. When in landing configuration, its wings would fold up like Lambda class shuttles to save space, and it has four side ramps and one back ramp for disembark access. The ship can fit a speeder bike and six minifigures inside. This model is an alternate build using only pieces from 2x75338 set. Mandalorianknight Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 I'm gonna be that extremely pedantic guy and point out that there is, in fact, a canon imperial LAAT, but that's extremely pedantic like I said. This is an excellent moc, even without the fact that it's an alternate build of 2 of the Andor set. You successfully made a significantly larger version of the Tac-Pod without it suffering from the standard issues with alternate builds. If you told me this was an official set for Andor S2, I'd believe it. Quote

Thank you for the feeback, I tried to keep all the good LEGO design ideas and improve upon them. Quote
Crazy bricks Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 This looks great! As someone who has also entered the Imperial Ships contest, best of luck!! Quote

(Which were just republic gunships painted gray, the classic imperial "our ship is the same as the republic one but with no red" design change) Having just built the Tac-Pod last night, I can definately see that. The good elements of the official design, like the doors and front, are kept, and you've expanded on the design significantly. Quote
