Ondra Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 This baffles me a lot, we got two UCS R2-D2, helmets, other UCS style droids even Yoda is there... But C3PO? We never get brickbuild version ever. C3PO is same crucial robot character like R2-D2, so its not making any sense. Could be there reason in license holder mind? What do you think? Quote
Murdoch17 Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 (edited) They've done it before... set 8007, from 2001. It wasn't very good, even for a Technic set... too many stickers. This would be the same problem if they did it now: too many stickers, or too many drum lacquered parts to make it worthwhile. It just isn't feasible. And besides, which version would they make? "Classic silver leg" (EP IV - VI), "Red arm" (EP VII), "Naked" (EP I), "Backwards" (EP V) or something else? Edited October 19, 2022 by Murdoch17 Quote
The Stud Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 Assuming that they'd want it to be at the same scale as R2, it'd have to be super expensive and crazy large. Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I don't know why this is it's own topic, but yeah, it's what both The Stud and Murdoch said. Color-wise, it'd be a nightmare, since so many things would have to be recolored in drumlaquer (also hence the lack of a naboo royal starship, or actual silver Razor Crest). Structurally, it would be a nightmare. Something like the Hulkbuster BARELY works with it's chunky, pre-bent legs. A UCS C-3PO would be completely immobile in the legs and very unstable, even if they built it into a base. I just can't see that working at all. Quote

I just read in some interview they will not do C3PO as helmet, because its not helmet and dark trooper was not difference because it is helmet. So there it is... Quote
