Like many, I wasn't impressed with the proportions and some of the details of the officials set. Here are some of my adjusments:

  • Redesigned the droid-pod (missing the new 2022 angled piece in Studio unfortunately)
  • Made the body (in front of the cockpit) 2 studs shorter
  • Changed the width of the front wing
  • Redesigned the front/mounted guns

Let me know what you think!

While I would agree the original has it's faults, it seems like you significantly reduced the overall size, yet made the droid pod taller. It always seems to me those droid pods are a little to high anyway. Probably in the minority here but I really liked this set, other than the back motor falling off all the time.

I finally watched TBoBF last week and I really liked the updated N1. I also thought of the official set, how it's such a bad representation of the source material, partly due to the fact that it is too big, like lots of Star Wars sets are IMO. But you made it look significantly better already by this downscaling. As for improvements, I agree with the droid pod being too tall, reducing it shouldn't be much of a problem when you have the right passenger in mind   And I'm not sure if the cockpit should be a bit more to the front...

But overall, a very adequate improvement

This is awesome! Could I use this design to mod my N-1? I'm not super in love with the proportions of the official set haha.
