BardDandelion Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Hello! Wanted to share my newest LEGO Castle creation - figurine of the griffin and his rider. Build was inspired by various depictions of the creature, mainly from video games - HoMM, Warhammer and Warcraft. Started with chest armour and head, suprisingly these were quite quick to build. Struggled a bit with wings, because didn't want them to be too massive. When I removed modified A-shaped plate used in Master Wu dragon set and combined two layers of the wings I knew that it as going in the right direction. The rest of the figurine was easy to make. Hope you enjoy it. ;) Quote
GeoBrick Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Very impressive! Maybe the hind leg hoofs should be equally large as the front leg claws, but for the rest, a marvelous creature. Quote
Sarophas Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Very nice and creative! Now to take it to the next level and build Deathclaw Quote
zoth33 Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Very nice griffon. I really like the design of the wings with the Ninjago wing piece. I think it would look better without the armor though. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Wicked gryffon. I love how you used a smattering of pieces from various sets to make it. Quote
royalstick Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Wow! Looks like Emperor Karl Franz and Death claw!!! Quote
Zhokker Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 That's definitely a nice moc! I like how it's builded, everything flows together perfectly! I also like that you used CCBs part as a helmet. Quote
MontyMatte Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Love the idea to use the bandanas for the shoulders.Kudos for all your creation! Quote
Triceron Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I really dig this build. It looks like it's very posable. I would love to see it in some different poses. Quote
natesroom Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 i couldnt figure out where that breastplate piece was from. Quote

jtooker Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Great job! The black falcon fig goes well too. Quote
BardDandelion Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 I see that there are several answers in this old topic of mine. :D @jtooker @MrLegoBlitz @legogirl221 @LEGO Train 12 Volts @royalstick @Zhokker Thanks a lot! Glad that you like my build. ;) @Yoggington Yup, that's the one. It comes from KKII big figures sets. @Triceron Thanks! I still have it and going to use it in battle diorama, preferably flying over battlefield. @natesroom I should have something. If you are still interested it, let me know, I could send you some WIP photos. ;) @MontyMatte Thanks a lot! It's a bit tricky technique and could be risky (torso or arms may break). I do not recommend it to unexperienced people who do not feel parts. @Feuer Zug Thank you. For me this is the essence of LEGO - taking sets apart and creating something new. @zoth33 I was heavily influenced by HoMMV griffons, they were armoured and wanted to recreate it in my build. @Sarophas Thanks! I have some more Warhammer creatures in my mind so who knows, maybe at some point I will make Deathclaw. ;)@GeoBrick Yup, size of the hoofs is something I should reconsider. Thanks for the feedback. ;) Quote
