As explained in the description - 'A clean car chassis based on 42124 Off Road Buggy'. I have removed some unnecessary parts and exchanged some parts position. It is intended for those who don't have 42124 set. Thanks for your feedback. Quote
Igor1 Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 (edited) I'm afraid that those who don't have a new buggy set will not have also some of the necessary parts for building a chassis. For example, new liftarms with perpendicular holes. Since so far 42124 is the only set where they meet. Perhaps it would be logical not to use such rare details, because buying them separately is still expensive. Edited June 27, 2021 by Igor1 Quote
Rebel_Lego Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I do not totally agree with you @Igor1. I think if you don’t own 42124 it is difficult to built this, but if you do, and you want to build a MOC, but you don’t know how to build a chassis, this is great i think Quote

The chassis practically repeats the set 42124. If you already have it, then adapting it to your own model is not a problem (imho). But I could be wrong of course, sorry. Quote
Sariel Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 No to rain on your parade, but it's not much of an off-road chassis if it's only RWD. 4x4 would be much more off-roady. Quote

You mean this part ? - Technic, Liftarm, Modified Perpendicular Holes Thick 1 x 15 Noted. Let me review my design and try to come up with an alternative. The part costs about USD2 Thanks. 2 hours ago, Sariel said: No to rain on your parade, but it's not much of an off-road chassis if it's only RWD. 4x4 would be much more off-roady. Thanks Sariel for your thoughts. I am honored to have you responded to my post. BTW, I did watch your improvement video on 42124. It is great. The name of my MOC was taken from the original name of the 42124 set. :-) Yes 4x4 is more off-roady but with big wheels and front/rear suspension, IMHO the 42124 set can be a good alternative. 4 hours ago, Igor1 said: @Rebel_Lego I'm just quoting what the author himself wrote for whom this model is. I like the word 'adapting'. You are again right on this. But as @Rebel_Lego mentioned, it can be helpful to 42124 owners who do not know how to do it. Anyway, for non 42124 owners, I am afraid they will need to get an alternative for the rare parts. Quote
Mantarri Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 So long as it's available in your region, you can order parts of LEGO's Bricks and Pieces service (available in the same area as getting replacement parts). I think the beam with perpendicular pinholes was around $1 CAD on there when I bought some, definitely less than $2 USD. Quote

I recently ordered these new liftarms on bricklink. In my region the price was about $3 USD per piece, excluding shipping. The problem is that the part 71710 is still rare. In many stores on bricklink it's simply not available. And if you need it, you have to make a separate order. Even if shipping is cheap, 10 bucks is 10 bucks! For two parts only.
