I always loved the design and style of the White House, I managed to mail(at the time) former presidents about it and got different post cards directly from there also, I must have designed thousands of sketches of a version of a White House I would love to live in and did the math on how much it would to build a real one(after a Chinese Billionaire built an exact replica of it in China) so whenever LEGO made both sets of a White House with the 21006 and the 21054 of course I jumped at both releases to get one, I love the sets but always felt they were off in proportion and back in 2010 when the 21006 got released I bought 2 just to make an accurate at the time but it always felt off and incomplete.

With the release of 21054 I completely fell in love with the new style and design and addition of the East and West wing but also the redesigns of the south and north porticos IMHO, granted it’s not perfect but beggars can’t be choosers and it’s an easy fix.  The trees, bushes, I love it all so I took some ideas from 21054 and went back to 21006 to make some additions and touches, I got the order from Bricks and PIeces but I ran into a colossal road block that I didn’t see and was the fact that 21006 relies on hollow blocks than system blocks for the windows so I had to go back and change up how the windows looked, granted It’s a hit or miss for me but I ordered 2x1 bricks in trans brown for more of a see through design I think, please let me know what I can improve upon, this is somewhat the final version of it since I must had change it up like 5-6 times since the south portico wasn’t really trying to fit the way I wanted.

I changed the north portico roof to match the overall color of the roof as an alternative look:

Hope it’s up to your liking!

I’ve also did a minor MOD to the 21054 White House, I hated how they used the grey bricks just for variety’s sake but not really accurate, I just tried to match up the windows on the ground level LOL

Due to the scale could only fit 2 windows

The real White House has symmetrically 2 more windows from the center, both versions only have 1 on each side, I think in lego form they did the best they could since making accurate makes it out of proportion, I’m really split if I should widen the windows, another pet peeve was how the side windows never aligned with the front and back so i also made them match up, it’s an easy fix, don’t know why lego never bothered for symmetry at least

To my horror you can also add the east and west wing to the 21006!!! This is just to see how they would look like but it’s more accurate to size versus the version we see in 21054

I took the set you see in the pictures above apart because I wanted to modify it again, ended up ordering more bricks from bricks and pieces for the windows

I’m getting old.  This topic is of course of 21006 but I also low key made some changes to my 21054, but here’s the catch I bought one 21054 in February of this year that when I finished the build it inspired to mod the 21006.

I have a lot of boxes in the garage with all my lego and actions figures thrown in there and I went on a purge where I threw away empty boxes i didn’t need anymore and because i couldn’t fit my 21054 i placed it inside a box somewhere.  Recycling day came and I got rid of all My extra boxes, but I fold them and flatten them to fit inside the bin.  My memory got extremely fuzzy because a week later my Bricks and pieces for 21006 arrived and I had them store inside my box 21054, thing is I lost it, and couldn’t find it for like 3 weeks since I made this post.

I even told my girlfriend I would have felt it with my foot if I stepped on a huge box of lego so I considered it lost forever and during my heartbreak I managed to purchased ANOTHER 21054 to make up for it and made another bricklink order with the pieces that were inside the first box.

Today I was re arranging my boxes with my toys and guess what, i freaking found the first one and now I have 2.  I couldn’t find it because my dumb megablocks placed it upside down and as you know the lego architecture sets have a white bottom that’s extremely identical to the 2021 Star Wars wave with all white boxes and incidentally I had 4 Star Wars boxes around it.

I feel like an idiot and don’t know what to say but in the meantime I went ahead and modded the 2nd 21054 to make it an all white bricked White House so now that I know I have extra spare parts here’s a picture comparing both sets.

I can now see why the original build features grey bricks, the all white version despite it’s accuracy is really boring hahahah

Now that I’m happy that my old age forgot where i misplaced a huge boxed lego set in the garage i plan to use the east and west wing to display both 21006 and 21054 side to side and I’m extremely happy ;(
