Tom_Brick Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 As I mentioned earlier, I designed two new TIEs in parallel, the TIE Avenger and the TIE Advanced v1. I guess I mainly did it this way because I subconsciously wanted to put off doing the instructions which is always a pain. So I jumped back and forth between the two. Anyway, both are now finished and the instructions are available on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-72582/thomin/tie-ad-advanced-v1/#details Quote
MAVERICK26 Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 This is amazing - I can only wish that you make the instructions free on RB... Quote

Thanks and sorry to disappoint you, but making these instructions is quite a lot of work so that I think it's only fair to charge a little bit. I'm not getting rich off of it, in fact, what I earn doesn't come close to justifying the time I put into this. But it helps taking the edge off of my expensive Lego habit Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 This is incredible! I've never seen someone accurately get the curved wings of the interceptor, and you definitely pulled it off. 5 hours ago, MAVERICK26 said: This is amazing - I can only wish that you make the instructions free on RB... Why are these comments so common under good MOCs... he is offering a product, in this case the instructions to this model, and if you want to buy it you're welcome too, if you don't think it's worth the cost to you then don't buy it. Either way, complaining that you're not getting it free won't help. 9.00 for the instructions of a model over 1200 parts is super cheap compared to lots of other mocmakers, anyway. Quote

Yeah, I know how hard it is to make instructions - I just finished one for a TIE Whisper which I plan to post soon. The quality of these is so good, though, that I would pick these up immediately could I spare the time it would take to build this amazing model. I just don't have time to build this model - it looks gigantic and very time-consuming. No offense, of course, it's a great model - it's just big. I never meant to imply that this is not worth the time and effort you undoubtedly put into it. I wasn't complaining, I was simply voicing my thoughts aloud. I wish that people wouldn't jump on me and other people for saying this. Again, I never meant to insinuate that $9.00 wasn't worth the effort and time - I just wish that I could get the instructions sooner, due to both time and money to "splurge" on instructions for amazing MOCs. No worries, I didn't take it as being insolent. I like free stuff as well. My smaller models are usually free, but stuff like this takes so much effort that I think it's only fair to ask for a little bit. And compared to the costs of the actual bricks, it's not even that much. Quote

As I said in my earlier comment, I know how hard it is to make instructions. I'm working on renders for a TIE Whisper. I never meant to insinuate that it was so bad it should be free, because it isn't, of course. Quote
