SaperPL Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 (edited) The core of this concept is the possibility of using Technic elements to build a small farm tractor that can be manually driven with a knob on the roof, but has drive and steering axles routed to front and back for attachments like a trailer with Powered Up motors and Technic Hub for RC control of the whole set. I often see those featured in the newsletter selected as staff picks if they do gather support fast, and I've got over 200 supports in few days thanks to the feature in newsletter. Jundis Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 The idea to use the trailer as batterybox and motor is a really unique idea for a tractor this size. Reminds me of the train system with a tender :-) For this size it also has a nice look to it :-) Quote
SaperPL Posted January 10, 2021 Author Posted January 10, 2021 Thanks! I actually did quite a lot of builds around the idea of spreading the RC across whole set of semi/farm tractor + trailer to cut the scale down. Here's some of more unique examples: Here we have the servo being kept virtually in line with tractor but inside the trailer. The clicking noises are from the use of quite a lot of gears and clutch to transfer the drive. I've learned a lot since that build and could probably make this approach a lot better now. Here's whole RC for the farm tractor in the trailer made possible with single flexible link. Just to show that you can have more than one inputs with a single axle :) I've also had a multiple attempts of putting battery inside the trailer like shown here and in the american semi video. Quote
SaperPL Posted January 16, 2021 Author Posted January 16, 2021 My tractor MOC got the first review: Make sure to enable auto translated subtitles on youtube since it's a German channel. Quote
