Hi everyone.
As you know, the PF servo motor (88004) is out of production and the units left on the market are reaching collector's prices ... Do you know a valid alternative product? I tried with a couple of different Chinese copies of the 88004, but in both cases the steering control is not gradual, but only has 3 positions (all right, center all left). Would it be possible to program a PF motor, like the M motor, with Brickcontroller 2 or similar products, in order to rotate by a defined gradation and then automatically return to zero? I mean in a similar way to what the 42124 does through Control +, which through software transforms a normal motor into a servo motor.

They don't have some position sensors, so it would be really difficult to make them postion correct.

The only way to use m-motor is to make solution similar to 42070 set and (from my experience) only on 2 wheel steering MOC or articulated steering using small linear actuators...

I have similar problem because I own only 4 PF servos :hmpf_bad:

If you're using it with buwizz, there is no Chinese servo which can do proportional steering, actually holding a middle position like what you want. If you're using it with Lego digital controllers, there are some which allow you to part-turn, then return, without having to hit 100% turn first. But it's hit and miss as to which they are, even among same manufacturers.

There may yet be hope? Afraid I don't know much more than this video shows, though.I can only say that the white axle hole suggests this is a new type of Chinese servo.

Thanks Amorti, that's just what I was looking for. I will keep informed about this new white hole motor.

How are other of you facing the Pf servo motors shortage?

Well I have to make new plans for my MOCs, since I do not want to take assembled a part...the only problem for me is to make 4 wheel steering models...

There is a possibility with m-motor to but it will be stressful; something like on 8043 set, but I don't know anyone who played with 8043 for years, or anyone who managed to broke m-motor in 8043 set...so it is a bit difficult to help in advance...

I'm personally looking at just buying the BuWizz 3.0 with a friend whenever they started doing a 2 unit bundle, as it supports both PF, and PU, and buying some PU motors on Bricklink, as they can be used as servos.

That is not such a bad idea after all...

"only"... I own 2...

I have started buying parts because after taking MOC apart lots of parts become loose or even broke...

But this problem - how to replace servo is a big problem; BuWizz is not cheap - 150€
