JintaiZ Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) Thanks to everyone sho has voted! The most popular set of 2020 is... 21321 International Space Station! Edited December 16, 2020 by JintaiZ Quote
The Island Chronicles Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Currently, my favorite part about City is the Great Vehicles line. For 2020, my favorite set is the Ice Cream Truck. I've always loved it when City obsessed over little things that you'd see in a city and the ice cream truck is no different. It's a set that is perfect for any city layout. Build it and slap it into a random part of your town and pretend that your minifigs are gravitating towards it. It's also got some cool features such as a cooker area, cone display table and the opening windows. I guess you can say that I have started a collection of food trucks as I still have my pizza van from 2017. I hope I see another food truck somewhere in City in 2021. Quote
The Island Chronicles Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 My other favorite set is Main Square. Why? Because it's one of the sets that us hard to get and when you find it, its soooooo expensive. Quote
JintaiZ Posted November 30, 2020 Author Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) I find it a bit interesting how 21321 received 18 nominations already... I did nominate it and it is one of my favorite sets this year but it was still quite surprising... Edited November 30, 2020 by JintaiZ Quote
The Island Chronicles Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Ah yes! The international space station set. That one was actually pretty nice. Quote

Vindicare Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Since we were able to pick 5 I went the Bookshop, two CNY sets, Diagon Alley & Cloud Jet. Quote
JintaiZ Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 (edited) Spoiler Grand Piano is currently in the lead, with International Space Station coming in second. The results are not final, but it's obvious both sets will make it into the top 8. Edited December 1, 2020 by JintaiZ Quote
SoggyBottom17 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 My favorite so far has been the Mos Eisley Cantina, close at second diagon alley Quote
Toastie Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 The Crocodile - what else? Maybe you should also include country of origin of voters and price tag of set, otherwise your voting results will go arbitrarily everywhere ... Best Thorsten Quote

I tried to include the country of voters, but it didn't work as expected as many people simply left it blank. Edited December 6, 2020 by JintaiZ Quote
JintaiZ Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) My predictions: Round 1: 501st Battle Pack is a fantastic set and offers great value at only $30. However, I don't fancy its chances against the International Space Station... Round 2: When the original Ideas project was neither approved or not approved in the review, a lot of fans have been asking in the comments section for it to be made. For this reason, I expect 21323 Grand Piano to win. Round 3: This one is just hard to say... two completely different sets. Round 4: The largest set of all time VS Classic Pirates!! Personally, I think 10276 Colosseum have a bigger chance considering that it sold out on the first day of its release. That said, fans have been asking for the return of the Pirates theme too... caiman0637 Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 Darn, it should've been the Bookshop. I love that set. Quote

Sadly, it didn't even make it into the top 8. (even though 130 people are enough to determine which set is the most popular) Quote
BrickObsessed Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 (edited) I don't know why, when I read the title without even looking at the thread yet, I knew the most popular is gonna be a set that has to do with space exploration or Star Wars. lol Edited March 10, 2021 by BrickObsessed Quote

But I honestly did not expect the Space Station to win. It is also one of my personal favorite sets, but I never thought it could even stand a chance against 2,000+ piece sets... This year I'm pretty sure the final winner would be a bigger set. Quote

Whenever I'm in the Lego store or Lego aisle of Walmart and Target, I notice most people gravitate towards the Star Wars section. They are also the most common sets I see people display on Youtube. I mean, Target & Walmart just have more SW sets than other themes. But in brickset voting rounds the Star Wars theme usually gets 1st place or 2nd place. Quote
