LegoDW Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 So I made my first bricks and pieces order about a month ago. When arrived I accidentally ordered twice as many wheels and bearing elements as I needed. Happy accident right? Could only get the bearing element if I went thru replacement bricks option. When I was last on Bricks and Pieces the metal axle 1687 is no longer available (even thru the replacement parts). Before I order on Bricklink, is there a standard size nail or something folks are DIY making their own axles out of? Best price on Bricklink for 20 axles is $1.2 each plus shipping. Quote
Phil B Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Check out https://www.bricktracks.com/product-page/metal-train-axle-x50. $19.95 for 50. Quote

dr_spock Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I made my own out of K&S stock #505 piano wire. It's less than $1 for 3 feet of wire and it makes 23 axles. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/157497-train-axle-making-jig/ Quote
BrickMusher Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Chinese seller on ebay. Link select 2*40 mm in the menu, and the quantity you'd like. They are not stainless, so I can recommend indoor-use only. But they are really cheap (at least if you buy in 200+ quantities). Have ordered several times, no problems so far. Quote
