i have been busy these last few months on many prjects that i will be submitting to lego ideas, such as the Lighthouse and Guard house you may of seen on here, whilst uploading those i noticed that Pirates of the caribbean was once again allowed back to lego ideas, many people have been making ships - which honestly was my plan too but then i thought what was my favourite and most visually stunning scene and for me it was the Maelstrom Duel between The Black Pearl vs The Flying Dutchman so i decided to take a shot and recreating that here in my submission, i think it would make a really good display piece for anyone who is a fan of ships as well as PotC and id like to think it is unique enough to stand out

Those micro ships are beautiful. A great MOC, however, I see a little problem with it.

One ship is going clockwise, the other is going counter clockwise. In the movie (And in the concept art) they are going the same direction. Your ships are going to crash together, and we won't get epic Jack Sparrow moments.

ah thanks i didnt notice there was a subforum for this one

Aye, LEGO Pirates is perhaps unique in that regard.

Your MOC would make a fine social media story at some point in the future!

ooooo that would be a wonderful pleasure, i could drink to that, i've submitted it to Ideas i cant imagine it doing too well but who knows this may spark some intrest in lego Pirates again within the general lego fans

I myself would submit the half build version. It's better for display and also too many redundant elements are not a positive thing for an IDEAS set.

Anyway you'll get one supporter in me ;)

And thank for posting your MOC here - this forum wouldn't be anything without fine contributions such as this.

Also, I should note...

If your MOC has been submitted to LEGO Ideas, bloody-well mention it in the first post with a link to the Ideas page so people can easily find and support the MOC. :pir-classic:

Here is one of those buttons...
