Vorkosigan Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 The modules from 60227 Lunar Space Station seemed an obvious fit for a moon base, so I tried my hand at a modification. I added quite a few parts, it is not an alternate model. I started by rebuilding the junction section into a 4 way instead of 3 way. I added a "real" airlock, with openable doors on both sides, something official sets tend to neglect. A support structure and feet were needed, and lastly a comms array / power generation. The height of the entryway to the base was aligned with Rover 60225 because someone living on the moon for sure needs a cool moon car to drive. Interior has no mods from the original set, it seemed fitting enough within the scale. Comments appreciated! Quote
Tim_AZ Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Nice! I've been thinking of doing something similar. These sets really lend themselves to multiple uses. Quote
icm Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Thanks for posting. I like the new airlock and center module, and especially the lower frame and the legs. Quote
Faefrost Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 I keep thinking that the 2014 Arctic Base sets would fit in with a Mars or Moonbase extremely well. https://brickset.com/sets/60036-1/Arctic-Base-Camp Quote
mmasti Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 @Vorkosigan could you be so kind and possibly list some of the parts you used extra to build this creation, beyond 60227 bricks? :) We'd LOVE to rebuild the station like yours! Quote
