"Goodnight, sorry for sinking you." is the quote from U-68 commander Karl-Friedrich Merten that he told the shipwreck after giving them a compass direction and provisions.   "We couldn’t have been sunk by a nicer man”, said one of the survivors during a 1984 reunion between the commander and survivors.

I just need a few more printed parts this week to finish it up for Brickworld Chicago 2019.

WOW! I love it! Nice to see such a detailed lego military submarine. I have been searching for ideas for one for ages but this is by far the best that I have seen.

First things first...my goodness that is a lot of trans rounds.... What a great build! I love the sinking ship with all its strewn cargo. Fantastic scene.

Wow! That looks amazing! From the sinking ship (love the way the water is washing over the stern and all the rigging/wires), to the u-boat (which looks pretty much perfect) and even the brick built lifeboats, this is fantastic!!

Excellent stuff - thanks for sharing!

*oh2* woah! That is massive!

The overall look of the scene is great, but the U-boat I think is the best, it looks very true-to-scale. I also had never heard of this story before, so thank you for sharing!
