steph77 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) Hi all, Here is an attempt at building a new forklift. My previous one used the TLG design for the boom. This time i decided to build my own. Why? Just because the TLG boom had a big inner central mecha that makes impossible for the driver to look in front of him... I solved this by using a string based mechanics to lift the first stage of the mast. The second stage is also indirectly lift by the first one's movement. The whole arm has a tilting mechanism: The model has a propulsion base on one medium size motor, a tilting mechanism based on the same one. The direction is made with a servoand the main lifting use also a medium size motor. At all stage, the power is enough. Some other pictures: Front view. the driver just can look in front of him. Good idea no? Maximun size of the full open mast The model has drive and steering. Led light are also at party. The steering Wheel is custom made using technic disk and a Polly tire I hope you'll like it. Steph Edited June 20, 2018 by steph77 spelling Quote
Aventador2004 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Very nice work, well rounded. Absolutely not a plug, but this could be its partner at work: Spoiler Again, very nice work, would love a video. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Fantastic forklift the only thing I don´t like is the battery position but seeing the size it was impossible another place I guess, I want to see a video if is possible. Quote

Overall very nice moc. Now with decent LEGO forklift I suppose that there will be more forklift mocs Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) This is the baddest of a.s.s! Great work. Volvo forklifts are pretty rare, but they're out there, and this is a brilliant representation. Edited June 20, 2018 by Maaboo35 Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Beautiful forklift. Everything seems to work as it needs to, and the whole thing looks very nice. Quote
agrof Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Absolutely love it! The proportions, the build, and seemingly the functions too (I trust You, based on previous MOCs). Quote
doug72 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) I built this 3 years ago and have only just dismantled it for building other new MOCs. It worked very well with full remote control. I think the instructions by Kevin Moo were free. Edited June 20, 2018 by Doug72 Quote
steph77 Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) Thanks all for kind comments :) I will try to produce a video soon. @Doug72 i knew this moc. I found it obviously well build but however a little slow . This Moc is also a good illustration on the mast visibility problem ithat i have tryed to solved. Edited June 20, 2018 by steph77 Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Great build, I especially like the 3-stage mast and the see-through feature Quote
Jurss Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Really good. as a standard in industry, bigger forn tires would be good, but that just ar rally small - . Quote
brickless_kiwi Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I can honestly say that small tire forklifts do exist. The lift rating is either lower or they run a solid tire. Yes it' a well presented moc though irl generally a dirty two stage ram and lift chains are present and to be honest I'm so used to driving them you don't notice the lack of vision . I do like the small touches of lights and indicators Quote
sirslayer Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 nice models !! you guys and gals? should have a fork lift contest and see who can lift a big load.. im just thinking out loud!!! Quote
