Anto Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Here is a little crew! These two models are very compact, so very simple technically. I wanted to do the same type of model as the little LEGO sets. The forklift: The arm can be moved using a worm gear/8t system. The towballs are here to limit the movement of the system. The fork moves when you turn the 12t gear. There is a pin with friction to keep it in position. The truck is even simpler. It has a steering and the dropsides are openable. The LDD file is available on Rebrickable. And here is the video! jwarner Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Very nice! I love seeing these smaller models. Quote
ColletArrow Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I enjoy these mini-MOCs, mainly since they're the size I usually build. I don't know why, but I especially love the forklift's headlights! These seem similar in scale and size to the new 42084 Hook Loader, and the 42060 Roadwork Crew before it; do you have those sets? If so, how do they all look when together? Quote
Lox Lego Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 This is brilliant :) Macro scale - simple and effect design. Well done Anto Quote
BusterHaus Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 A great little pair - I especially like the forklift with its three functions in such a small package. Quote
Aventador2004 Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Very nice, is the forklift caster steered? Quote
grum64 Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Excellent work. I think designing small models must sometimes be just as difficult as designing larger ones. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 This would actuallly make a terrific official set. Still dont think a technic moc would ever get accepted on lego ideas, but if one did, I think it would look something like this. Quote
Didumos69 Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Lovely little creatures! At this scale the number of options is so small and still you managed to make two very realistic models. Excellent work! Quote
JonathanM Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 The forklift mechanism using the inner piece from the sliding racks is genius. I wonder if LEGO will use a similar thing at some stage? Really cool little models. I have them bookmarked for when my son gets old enough! :) Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 That little forklift is perfection! Cool pair of builds, I would definitely get this if it was an official set. Quote
mocbuild101 Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Cute, and very well designed! The only part that might need more work is the front of the truck - it looks a bit too flat... Quote
Andy D Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Outstanding! I just saw this on Rebrickable today. I must build this! Thanks for sharing this great model. Andy D Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Love this! Might try building it myself. Quote
1gor Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I like forklift, could be entry level Technic set Quote
arijitdas Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 @Anto This is a great pair. I shall plan to build this sometime in the coming weekends. Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I really like what you did here...the grandkids love this stuff!! Quote
Anto Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 I didn't think you'll like this MOC so much. Thanks for the comments ! Yes and no. ^^ The rear 12t gear on the roof allows turning the wheel. But you can also move the rear of the forklift and it will turn because the wheel is not aligned with the vertical axle of the 12t gear - as on a floor jack. Yes I know, but I think at this scale it's not too inconvenient. That gives it an old truck look. I put the MOC on LEGO Ideas, so you can support it if you like it! --> https://ideas.lego.com/projects/cbc26691-7871-43ce-adcf-5dab095401a1 And thanks again for your comments! Quote
Anto Posted July 17, 2019 Author Posted July 17, 2019 I've done instructions for the forklift! For this, I used Blueprints, to generate instructions from LDD. The instructions are available on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-26704/Anto/micro-forklift Quote
