MattL600 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) Well, I decided that a super car with a HUGE grapple hook would be a good idea. Was I wrong? Maybe... The whole vehicle turned out to be the most difficult thing that i have ever built but the more i worked, the more every step became clearer. The vehicle has a well... wacky look Grappling gun cannon It is powered by 3 motors. One for pulling the string One to help push out string before firing cannon (so that it does not become stuck) One which would reel the hook in with a tiny ledge which is built into the cannon. Front scissor bumper which will snap together when bumped. I'll do a firing demo if i figure out how to add videos without putting it on youtube. need to work on bodywork and maybe some extra features Edited September 28, 2017 by MattL600 Quote

Would love to see a video of the cannon. Why not on youtube? You can narrow visibility to 'unlisted' and share it here without making it publically available. Quote

BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Looks good so far! I want higher quality pictures (if possible, of course) because right now it isn't too easy to see. Do you have a white background or something? Quote

And no, I don't have a white background I'm thinking of buying maybe white foam boards and a light set? Not sure if it's really a good investment considering the fact that my collection is still pretty small xD Oh yeah, what are the parts that you used for your TC12 supercar? I need more suspension parts :3 Right now I only have the parts to make one combination for independent suspension (v8 supercar) and one combination for live axle (unimog) :( Quote

I would recommend a sheet of A2 paper, and 2-3 (ordinary) lamps with LED globes - it's what I am using (along with a few other minor things), and it's very easy to set up. Also, don't forget, a little computer editing goes a long way... especially with the right program. By the way I'm happy to go more in-depth about it - if you're interested... doug72 Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 A clean white sheet makes a good background. Quote

MattL600 Posted October 7, 2017 Author Posted October 7, 2017 Bodywork added! Now I added - a sliding cockpit - rear spoiler that raises when the cannon is lowered and comes down as a mudguard when it is pointing up But yeah, I'm justing looking for suggestions. Im thinking about getting proper equipment though this photo was taken really quickly, like most of my project updates :3 Maybe a white umbrella behind an led light? I found that normal lights will reflect to show the origin of light source which would ruin the photo :( Quote

MattL600 Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 yay i finished, ill just copy and paste my entry form here: Scorpion R5 Functions Everything is RC (except for scissor jaws which is rubber band powered) Wacky function? A giant grapple gun (UNLIMITED AMMO NYEH) Front scissor jaws which when bumped will snap into the vehicle that bumped it. After this is done the jaws will stay as a large frontal spike that you can ram into your opponents. Four wheel drive Front wheel steering All wheels are suspended Grapple gun has one motor that will let the dragon actually ‘eat’ the harpoon only it unleash it’s fury One cannon motor reels in the string and also unreels it while the other motor helps it so that the string won't curl inside Elevating grapple hook that also controls the spoiler. When the gun is pointed straight forwards the spoiler is up to increase driving performance, when the gun is using artillery mode the spoiler will form mudguards which will help stabilize the gun. Sliding cockpit roof The Scorpion R5 was initially a prototype racecar that was kept in a museum until the start of WW3 where the military decided to ‘borrow’ the vehicle. They moved the rear engine to the left cockpit so that they could install a hydraulic arm in its place which would hold a massive cannon from an anti tank gun that they later converted into a grappling gun. After the end of WW3 the military was no longer interested and decided to scrap the project and had it sold at an auction. The winner was a Chinese billionaire who had the rear cannon converted into a cannon as well as installing scissor jaws on the front of the vehicle. The billionaire finally decided that he would enter the Eurobricks wacky wheels race in hope for prizes, glory and fame! Scorpion's Racing tactics (Why the Scorpion R5 would win wacky wheels) Grapple and Cut Combo The scorpion grapples onto the vehicle and pulls it into it's blades which would destroy the other racer. Speed Leech Grapple the hook onto a faster vehicle and use their speed to your advantage, when finished use the Grapple and cut Combo to finish them off Blade Ram Ram into the enemy with your blades, destroying them Cannon spam Use your grapple gun to destroy the enemy shot after shot Artillery!!! Upgrade the string length. Camp at base and set the Scorpion on Arty mode. Destroy the enemy from far far away... Race cleanly Okay? I suppose? Scare them with your giant dragon Wow okay... Video: More photos :D And finally, the discussion topic ;) Thanks for reading :D Scorpion R5 for president! (lol) Good luck everyone :) Quote
