Hi, does anyone mind making a confederate torso decal that is in a light tan color? Or something that looks like a confederate butternut torso. My search for butternut torsos has been hard. So if anyone minds making me one I would much appreciate it!

Thanks, Lawdawg

Hello!

I used the Old LEGO cavalry torso as the base for the wrinkles and front flap of the torso. Then increased the amount of buttons, made a more detailed belt and made a backside.

This is based on the Richmond Depot jacket with 9 buttons and the type of collar and backside. Here is 3 versions for white decal paper and they should match DBG, dark tan and tan. I also included one for transparent decal paper.

I couldn't include the photos in the comment, but here should be a link to a Flickr album with the four versions, please let me know if the link works.

Gold is a difficult color to use when designing decals which is why I used a yellow and orange colors. By providing me those color codes I was able to make the changes to the design rather quickly. Color is one of the more tricky aspects to design work. Everyone's screen shows the hues slightly different than when you print out the decal the colors could be entirely wrong for Lego so you've got more adjustments. What type of application process are use using?

And the colors in this decal I generated by taking samples off the reference figure.

Your decal image looks great. The crisp edges you have is what I find most difficult to accomplish in my own efforts. On the topic of gold, let me share my method.

In Gimp, you can use a picture of gold as a pattern, and then use the pattern to fill an area. Here's a gold image I've used: 54008395029_2cb039a44d_m.jpg

It's a very small part of this image the Clock King (a Batman villain), but note the gold pocket watch, it's chain, and the buttons of the suit: 54008491080_fd4b8de785_m.jpg

I started with a decal image that already had a pocket watch in yellow-orange, and I deleted all those pixels. Once it was empty, I set the Fill function to pattern, from selection (choosing a section of the gold one), and then I filled each area.

Printing it well is another matter, as you mentioned.

Here's a version using that gold image. The image has lighter areas and darker areas, so I used those separately in place of the lighter and darker oranges of the original.

I'm not sure if this has already been done, but I'm having a hard time finding anything, so I'll just ask.

I'm making a SP3 moc and I need the torso and leg decals from the officers. Jawson's torso and legs would also be useful. Can anyone here help?

There's two other things I'm looking for: the green alien head from the 2024 BAM (this one might be tricky) and the 2024 prisoner jumpsuit (ideally transparent, I want to try using reddish orange) I got this one through the Lego Builder App, still looking for the other requests though!
