Hey guys, I'm working on building a Star Destroyer bridge but trying to keep it very compact. What do you think?

I'd be happy for any feedback on the build, although I gotta admit, there's a dual purpose to this post. I just signed up for Flickr -- it seems to be the website to use, around these parts, so I figured I should learn. If anyone has any embedding or Flickr tips, don't hesitate to let me know -- hopefully it'll work alright.

(Edit: It also occurs to me, after posting this picture, that this bridge is a bit battle damaged! The large pipe should not be slightly bent, and one control panel seems to have fallen off its stud -- probably a consequence of me working on the bottom of it or something. I guess you really have to pay attention to detail before you take pictures of small builds, huh?)

That looks great! It's certainly cramped, but you still manage to get the point across. It's certainly not chibi, but I don't know if it's a Star Destroyer bridge. Maybe the bridge of some Imperial light destroyer? Whatever it is, keep up the good work!

Have you read this helpful Eurobricks Flickr Tutorial?:http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97921

Thanks! Yeah, I did read the tutorial -- otherwise you'd probably have seen a broken link, heh. Do you think the size of the embedded image is appropriate?

This is perfect, it could always be the bridge for one of the smaller Star Destroyers like the Victory Class or the Interdictor. Rebels Interdictor is much bigger then the normal kind so it still works in that regard.

The embedding looks good. I personally always delete the part that has the words next to the picture but not everyone does so it depends on preferencel.

Thanks! Is there any official indication of how big the Rebels Interdictor is supposed to be? I know the EU version was 600m long, which always seemed a bit small to me for something carrying "gravity well projectors." Also, I see you picked up the new Superman hair piece. I'm thinking of using that for the captain since it just looks so cool. The guy with the mustache on the bridge is just the ship's XO (despite his resemblance to Pellaeon).

Nope, no word on the new Interdictor's size. It looks like it's 3-5 times longer than an Imperial light cruiser, though. Unfortunately, we have no official word on how big Imperial light cruisers are!

So I did some digging and according to this site the Arquitens-Light Cruiser , which is exactly the same as the Imperial variation, is roughly 250 meters. That sounds right to me although i'm unsure of the source's source.

Based off the clip on youtube from the Rebels episode I would agree with Juniorshark's estimate about the Interdictor being maybe 4 and a half times as long as a Arquitens-light cruiser. That would put the length of the rebels Interdictor approximately somewhere between 1100 to 1250 meters.

If both are correct I guess we could safely assume the Rebels version is twice the size of the regular kind from old school EU. So going with old school EU of interdictors generally staying at 600 meters in length your bridge feels very appropriate for that any other smaller imperial ship.

Sorry I felt the urge to figure out the math on this :laugh:

The details are great, but it's just too narrow. I think it could benefit from an extra 2 studs of width in the middle, as it is it seems like a ship smaller than an Imperial-class.

Ah, scrolling through the comments now, I see others noted that it seems like more like an Arquitens or Interdictor. I get a Venator vibe too.

No need to apologize, I love hearing Star Wars math. Thanks for the calculation! But now I wonder whether we can treat the Rebels Interdictor as a new class of ship or whether it's just a one-off prototype that may or may not be the same size as any other Interdictors in the canon universe. Shrug.

I agree completely, but there's nothing I can do at this point to make it wider in the middle, where the crew "pits" are, because it'd make the "neck" of the ship it's attached to look out of proportion.

An Rebels Interdictor bridge MOC is on my to-do list. It just looks so cool with those data pits!

So wait.... you're saying this bridge is part of a larger MOC?!? :excited:

Of course, that's why space is limited ;) It's attached to a 56-inch ISD that's about 95% complete. I hope to be done in a couple weeks -- just finishing up some of the interior spaces and some of the greebling, so I''ll be sure to show you more then!

Well, throw all of my previous criticism of this bridge out the window! If you're building to fill a specific space, this is top-notch! And I can't wait to see the rest of this behemoth! :excited:

Oh, now we are talking. A star destroyer with as accurate as possible interior is something I have been dreaming about, too,

and your version seems just perfect: it is tiny enough but has correct elements and shapes that make the right atmosphere.

Good job!

I always liked your mod, Goatman. Looking forward to seeing your finished product, Raskolnikov. I've played around with the idea of trying to make a mini bridge for the 10030.
