It's in the Horizon Adventures Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker set.

A whole four of them (two for Aloe's bow, and two spares) in the set.

The Shire set seems to have a lot of great new elements. A few from the interior particularly caught my eye: white pens as dripping candles, two recolored elements in Dark Orange for the chair legs and backrests, and an unprinted LEGO Friends hedgehog as a pinecone!

The dining room of the newly-announced Shire set

The new 1x2x2 circular window frame mold will also be useful not only for buildings, but also for animal burrows or porthole windows on ships. And the Medium Nougat boomerang recolors not only work great for a woven fence like the one in front of Bag End (a technique I imagine could also be used for animal enclosures in a medieval layout), they are also a great natural color for actual boomerangs in fantasy adventure settings. And perhaps a stack of them turned sideways could make a nice peaked roof on a well or market stall!

Too bad the 'pens' don't have a hole in them to fit a flame. Would've been perfect.

I'm also excited for that rounded window frame. I hope it will come out in reddish brown or dark brown too.

It looks like both the small 2x2 and 4x4 quarter-rounded tiles over rhe windows and door are printed as well. I bet next years modular will see a use for them as well.

Would be great if TLG remade the candle mould into something smaller like the pens imo. The current “candle” seems far too large and bulky relative to minifig scale. It would be nice to have a smaller version, especially with something like the dripping wax effect it seems they were going for here

For a narrower candle that still has a receptacle for a flame, one good option is part 78258 in white. This is even how the candle in the bedroom of the A-Frame Cabin set is constructed!

But honestly, I feel like it's fine for minifig accessories to be somewhat oversized in a lot of cases. After all, the minifig's proportions are kind of goofy in general, and so what looks best is not always gonna be what works best from a play perspective. Even the minifig greatsword (66964) is about as long as an adult minifig is tall!

Plus, candles in real life vary quite a bit in size, so it makes sense to have a lot of different build options for differently sized candles.

There are pigeons coming in the new city anniversary set.  Great new addition to any village/town/city in castle or fantasy settings.

Let's hope that it's the first of many appearances and that they not as rare as the seagull ( or worse the ostrich).

Another way of doing new candles (ones that are unlit and therefore not melted) is to use this piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=String grips#T=A

If you cut the string at the base of each bar and partway to the next bar, you get a great candle and wick.

Some consider cutting string unpurest but I believe there’s precedence for cutting string in official instructions (though, admittedly, not this piece).

There is adifference between cutting a string and cutting a piece with string 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m not a purist and not an arbiter of purity. I was just putting it out there as a suggestion for those who see purity as a scale rather than a category.

That is a really good idea especially for broken strings. I've got a couple where the ends have come off. They are good for climbing ropes where only one end needs to be attached at the top but I had never though of cutting them up even more.

Yes, good spot! I’m hoping actual photos follow on shortly after the sketch!

They look to be like the foal from the cmf hopefully we will get some nice recolors.

Those are way to small to be actual shields though.

It's a drawing.  They do look like shields to me.  what else would they be it wouldn't be a new mold.

That new crown piece in the new Klombo set will be a nice piece to use and the new leaf pieces in the Japanese maple set will come in handy

I agree :classic:

Is it possible to build a arch like that and end up getting 3 holes like that? If not I am not sure what they could be other than shields even if they might look a little bit small. Maybe the drawing do not take distance into consideration so closer things get bigger and things in the background get smaller:sceptic:

Yes, but they are probably to funky for anything, but a fantasy castle display :shrug_oh_well: The one with a horn is probably new as well, the 2 other use the CMF mould I think.

No?

I mean Hogwarts is a castle but Harry Potter isn't castle?

It looks like a real CASTLE tower. More effort goes HP than for example Icons / Ideas / Creator Castles. Also amazing 3-head dog mold.

Have you built or even just seen Lion Knights'  Castle?

I actually MOCed a bit my LKC yesterday. It is too pale grey, walls and towers so I make some details with dark grey and sand green. It changes overall look a lot.
