dr_spock Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Presenting a Power Miners build. I made this rock crusher for my 365 day photo project. You can find crushers at mine sites reducing large pieces into smaller ones. It seems to be jammed, send the new guy to clear it. Don't press Start. Junior Shark Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nice! But too little orange for a Power Miners MOC. Quote
azog Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 This brings back child hood memories!! I love the power miner theme and you added to it perfectly!! This is nice and small but very nice build!! I love it I love it alot!! Quote
Actor Builder Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nice! But too little orange for a Power Miners MOC. ...No... If anything, it has less orange than the Power Miners sets did. This looks great! Good job, dr_spock! Quote
gamejutzu Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) Nice! But too little orange for a Power Miners MOC. ...No... If anything, it has less orange than the Power Miners sets did. Umm, pretty sure he meant it had to little orange, not more. Don't press Start. I'm assuming you don't like Jar Jar, hmm? What if I told you he's actually a Sith lord? Dr_Chronos Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Nice little MOC here. As others have said it needs a little orange. I would really like to see how it would look like if you attached teeth to that chainsaw to give it a little flair. Quote
Actor Builder Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Whoops, I thought Junior Shark said "Little too" as opposed to "Too little". Sorry Junior Shark! Great build. Don't mind me. Carry on. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Lovely MOC, I do like to see some of the little MOC-ed themes be catered too. I agree about the orange though... Now, if the tank tread/conveyor belt was bright orange that would be perfect! Quote
samurai-turtle Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Nice! But too little orange for a Power Miners MOC. I think you need to look at the old Power Miners sets. If it needs anything it needs more Lime Green. Quote
dr_spock Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. In the Power Miners theme, orange was used mainly for the tools like the cutting wheels, jackhammer, shovel, buckets, etc. for the year 2009 released sets. So an orange conveyor belt would be perfect as Peppermint_M suggested. Unfortunately LEGO doesn't make that in orange. In the 2010 release. the sets didn't appear to use orange except for trans-orange marker lights. Tools were now blue. Lime green was the common color between the 2 years. More lime green would be good too. Back to the drawing board... Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 It is a great build though, looks just like a set. Quote
Junior Shark Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I think you need to look at the old Power Miners sets. If it needs anything it needs more Lime Green. Maybe we can find a halfway point and say: "Too much black" ? Quote
dr_spock Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 Thanks for the comments. I added with more lime green and turned it into a Rock Monster crusher. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 The extra lime green looks just right It was already and excellent MOC, but now it looks more power miners-ey. Quote
Junior Shark Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Now we're cookin'! This second version looks much better, mate! Quote
