A couple of years ago I made a black Porsche 944 and posted it on mocpages. It stood in my dining room all the time. I had big plans back then but lack of space in the moc cancelled some of the plans and I built it mostly for the looks. I wanted to built the car like the real one, but the looks were the most important.

This is the Porsche 944, built from '82 untill '92. Multiple versions are built, I wanted to built the turboversion. I built it in black because I have the most black lego. I'm not the person to buy bricks to built what I want, like my parents said: this is what you got, go from there. The plan was to built a 944 like the real one. suspension, steering, gearbox, 4cil piston engine, pop-up headlights, opening doors and hood, reardoor is not more than an window, so that wouldn't bij openable.

I had to delete the gearbox (ending with only the differential), the piston engine and the pop-up headlights. Opening doors wasn't possible, because the car was so heavy, you wouldn't be able te close the door. I installed 2 springs per wheel and still it was fully bottomed out on its own weight. I did not have space for more springs. Also the rear suspension was to weak to carry the car, it normally had a really negative camber.

Now I want to improve the moc. Plans are to make a mcpherson suspension in the front, rebuilt the rear suspension zo it works in an angle like the real one and sway bars front and rear. I want to make pop-up headlights which means no fake engine en no opening hood. To make the lines of the car better I want to use something flexible to line the rear window, also all my flat brick to avoid studs on the sides of the car. Maybe some improvements inside and outside (like dash and mirrors). The bottom of the car should be real looking instead of functional.

I hope to start this weekend

had some hours time to work on the project and its harder then I thought. I made a mc pherson suspention but don't know if its strong enough. Rear suspention is getting there but not finished. It's hard to make independable supporting brackets which can support a lot of weight. The pop-up headlight were also easier said then done. tomorrow I'll add some photo's of the progress.
