LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 ETR 500 Frecciarossa Hi Everyone, I'm back again with a new replica: the Frecciarossa! I'm thinking to recreate my own version of this masterpiece since I saw the MOC made by bmacro during the Model Expo 2014 in Verona I simply love the design of this Italian high-speed train and its beautiful livery! My version is powerd by two PF motors and have lights ...as usual for my trains! ...now enjoy the show! Quote
cgarison Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Spectacular detail. Good job fitting that AA battery box into the MOC because that takes a lot of time. The cantilevers are also well detail. Great Work. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Thanks eurotrash and cgarison ...you're welcome! Quote
dr_spock Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Molto bene. Good looking train. Handled those standard curves well without derailing. Does it have an interior? Quote
legoman666 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Those standard Lego curves doesn't do it justice. Did you order any of ME Models wide radius curves? Quote
garethjellis Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 i really like the creative way you capture the long sloping front of the train! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Thanks Dr Spock and Garethjellis! Those standard Lego curves doesn't do it justice. Did you order any of ME Models wide radius curves? You're right, that video is only to show that the ETR 500 can engage standard Lego curves ....but I've already ordered my large radius ME curves ;-) Quote
Rail Co Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 The Model is AMAZING! But I have to say that the train looks silly on those standard curves. When you change directions do the lights change too? As usual you have exceeded expectations on Lego models! Love your work! -RailCo Quote
Man with a hat Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Very nice! The pantographs are looking really good. Now it only needs a few extra carriages. Quote
kieran Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Very nice, will look even better on the me track Quote
Asper Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Wonderful! The sloped front is very accurate. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Looks nice going along, as everyone else has said better on bigger curves but all in good time. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Thanks again for the compliments! Very nice! The pantographs are looking really good. Now it only needs a few extra carriages. Extra carriages? The whole train is quite heavy, another wagon could be a bad surprise for the locomotive! ;-) Quote
helos Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 It's incredible how your creation smoothly runs on those narrow Lego curves. Can't wait to see this model on a proper circuit. You've made a great replica of this high speed machine by Pininfarina designer. I only see a lack of one carriage. Who knows if ETR1000 might be next challenge Quote
UrbanErwin Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 It looks very smooth, keep up the good work. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 You nailed all of the tricky curves on the model... now as many others have said, needs larger radii curves for the track (but don't we all... some time in Nov they say they say). There are a lot of great details in this build (no surprise). So on the doors to the coach, are those a half plate offset? Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 So on the doors to the coach, are those a half plate offset? Yes ...you have hit the mark, half stud was too much so I reduced ta gap to half plate Quote
monsinjor Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Wow, just wow. I really like the shape of this. And the colors too. You didi amazing job (as always) recreating real stuff into Lego form. You're the man! Quote
zephyr1934 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Yes ...you have hit the mark, half stud was too much so I reduced ta gap to half plate That does look a lot better than a half stud, very subtle but still clearly defining a door. I'm going to adopt that for my offset doors whenever possible. Quote
King Aragorn Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Magnificent high speed italian train! Quote
pixie Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Hey, it's better than the original one (I'm from Italy...)! Quote
snowvictim Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Marvellous. Absolutely gobsmacked. But it looks weird on that 180 curve. Edited October 16, 2014 by snowvictim Quote
Steinkopf Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Love your work there LT12V, you have really nailed the look of the nose there which is certainly no easy task when doing it in brick, overall the train is a very impressive build. Quote
