Logan McOwen Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Hey guys, just wondering; Does anybody know of any knockoff/clone brand Hero Factory or Bionicle sets, and (for extra brownie points) where I can buy them from? I'm especially interested in sets with unique molds or recolours, that the original LTG sets didn't have. Edited September 18, 2014 by LewiMOC Quote
bacem Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 i know there's a ninjago and star wars ultrabuild knock-off out there. the head is most likely new. Quote
Leewan Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I've never found them personally, but I know HF knockoffs are / were available in France, and they have interesting new parts. The brand is Betoys, some of them can be found on ebay. Quote
Jetrax99 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Another knockoff HF brand that I found is Bot Factory, and it's sold at Five Below if you live in the US. Quote
WARHEAD Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Poundland, dollar stores, Chinese markets, that's the sorts of place I've spotted them. Quote
arc Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 There's a website called aliexpress, it's based in China. It might look a little shady, but I've ordered something from there before, and it showed up. So I'll give you a link: http://m.aliexpress.com/search.htm?keywords=bionicle Quote

Kalhiki Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1111493/ Oh wow. I'm not sure if I'm more surprised at how cool the figures look, or the straight-up duplication of Lego's packaging. Quote
Leewan Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 It's not only a HF knockoff, these guys stole this Idea. Quote
Jasonified Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I would advise not buying knockoffs.. While they may have appealing parts, they're probably made with extremely cheap plastic. Quote
Chro Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) Another knockoff HF brand that I found is Bot Factory, and it's sold at Five Below if you live in the US. Whoa. There's a Five Below near me, but I've never looked around in there for too long. Any idea of the quality?EDIT: Found this. I would advise not buying knockoffs.. While they may have appealing parts, they're probably made with extremely cheap plastic. Some of them are actually pretty nice. Most, though, are low quality indeed. The solid glatorian head is cool and the chestplate is just awesome! Hopefully I can get the other 2 at some point and I'd certainly like to see more. Quote

Well, at least they came to fruition somehow... Did anyone in the thread buy any of them? Whoa. There's a Five Below near me, but I've never looked around in there for too long. Any idea of the quality? EDIT: Found this. Some of them are actually pretty nice. Most, though, are low quality indeed. That looks great! I love the custom chestplate, helmet, and the opaque head! Is there a way to get these online? Quote
TheRedGuy Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Last time I bought a bootleg out of curiosity, I was certain the smell would kill me. So, being the genius I am, I did this: In short: Don't buy the damned things. But then again, It's your money. Edited September 23, 2014 by TheRedGuy Quote

TheRedGuy Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Well, somebody cleary didn't see the testimonies of decent quality in the thread (my post and the review Chro linked). I guess some bootlegs have decent quality- But I'm still against supporting scum who are okay with copying things and possibly poisoning people for a quick buck. Yes, I did buy the ones I took pictures of, but I was dumb then. Quote
I AM THE DUCK MAN Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Hey guys, just wondering; Does anybody know of any knockoff/clone brand Hero Factory or Bionicle sets, and (for extra brownie points) where I can buy them from? I'm especially interested in sets with unique molds or recolours, that the original LTG sets didn't have. there's always the old neo-shifters, those were always awesome and almost never failed to impress, but prepare to differentiate 1.375 inch tubes from 1.750 inch tubes to build a character. You can get them 5-20 dollars on Ebay, but to get a new sealed one or one off amazon it'll run you roughly 30-60 dollars. They were actually more detailed and a lot cooler than BIONICLE ever was.
