Zerobricks Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 this is a little project I was playing with. The goal was to creat the smallest and lightest RC powered buggy with longf travel suspesnion and unleash it on some offroad terrain. Here is the result: It uses very long travel suspesnion in front and back: The suspension is very soft for maximum ride quality and to keep the truck's speed when going over uneven terrain. Because its only Rear wheel drive with a differential, its not capable as a trial truck, but it sure is fast! Video: Quote
DLuders Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 It can do "donuts" real well! Are you planning on making LDD building instructions for it sometime? Quote
Nazgarot Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hi, That's really a nice truck! What motors are you using, and how is your return to center steering made? -ED- Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 I use RC motors, and the steering is done via RC unit. Thanks! Quote
garson Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 why not use larger wheels? that way you can get alot more speed for the same rpm Quote
le60head Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 This model is great! I like it very much. I'm eager to try and build a car using the RC Module myself. I recently got it second-hand, but there's an issue with the range. Keep up your great models, Zblj! Quote

I recently got it second-hand, but there's an issue with the range. Keep up your great models, Zblj! Same thing by my module... I could use bigger wheels, but than the bodywork has to be higher and there is more stress on driveline. I am planning to make LDD instructions in few days. Quote
le60head Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Off topic: Did you have problems with the range of the RC unit as well? Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 Off topic: Did you have problems with the range of the RC unit as well? Yes, it starts to jerk at longer range. Quote
le60head Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Too bad :/ What do u mean by longer range? 2 meters? Did you find a way to fix that? I personally intend to get it to RC hobby models repair service. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Outstanding technic car! Very compact design and fantastic suspensions ...in the video the car run very fast, I was afraid for the near water but you have driven well this beautiful MOC! Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) As promised LDD file: Download here www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/RCTrophyTruck/trophy.lxf Why dont URL's work??? There are some pieces in rear suspension missing like CV joints and hubs, but all other stuff is there. Edited November 26, 2011 by Zblj Quote
DLuders Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) I want to build Zblj's Lego RC Trophy Truck soon, so I prepared this PDF Parts List that can be downloaded via MegaUpload SkyDrive. Thanks, Jernej, for your LDD .lxf model file! Edited February 5, 2012 by DLuders Quote
